Who is Duncan Campbell?
Duncan was born in Birmingham on April 3, 1958.
The 62-year-old is the current lead singer of British reggae band UB40.
The band are known for hits like (I Can't) Help Falling in Love with You, Red Red Wine, One In 10 and If It Happens Again.
When Duncan was once asked in a YouTube interview why he did not originally join UB40 in 1978, he joked because they were "c***" and that he "was too smart for them and he knew that they would get nowhere".
When did Duncan Campbell join UB40?
Duncan replaced his brother Ali Campbell as the lead singer of UB40 in 2008.
It came after Ali quit over a disagreement about management.
Duncan and his brother Robin Campbell, who's also in the band, have taken legal action against Ali because he tours using the UB40 name, the same name they use.
Meanwhile, Ali is said to be in talks to star in a UB40 film, which would tell his story of growing up in Birmingham and starting the band.
Why was Duncan Campbell rushed to hospital?
On August 4, 2020 it was revealed that Duncan was recovering in hospital after he had a stroke.
A statement on social media from the band read: "Duncan Campbell was taken to hospital after suffering a stroke.
"While we can report that he is already up and about, we ask fans to respect Duncan and the Family’s privacy as he works his way back to what we all hope will be a strong and speedy recovery. We look forward to seeing you all on the road next spring. Big Love, UB40."
