DEATH In Paradise returns to our TV screens this Thursday (January 9, 2020) and will see Ardal O'Hanlon in the lead role for the last time.

Who's in the Death In Paradise season 9 cast?
Ardal O'Hanlon
Series nine will see Ardal return in the role of DI Jack Mooney.
The star stepped in as the new Detective Inspector and made his debut in January 2017.
Irishman Ardal is best known for his role as Father Dougal Maguire in the comedy Father Ted.
In 2000, he took the lead role in the BBC sitcom My Hero which followed the antics and family life of his character Thermoman, a dim-witted superhero.
Elizabeth Bourgine
The actress plays Catherine Bordey, a Frenchwoman who has spent must of her adult life in Saint Marie and runs a popular beach-front bar in Honoré.
In France, the actress is best known for Private Lessons (Cours privé), A Heart in Winter (Un cœur en hiver), and My Best Friend (Mon meilleur ami).
Nina Wadia
Nina plays Anna Houghton, a British tourist visiting Saint Marie
The actress is most famous for starring as Zainab in the BBC soap EastEnders, a role she played for six years until she left in 2013.
Since then, we’ve seen her in Trollied, Still Open All Hours, Holby City and Murder on the Blackpool Express.
Aude Legastelois
Aude joins the show permanently as DS Madeleine Dumas, following her debut in the last two episodes of series eight.
The actress has previously appeared in Budapest, Back Home, They Had a Dream, and Nox.
Tobi Bakare
Tobi returns once again as Officer JP Hooper.
The actor previously starred as Eggy’s friend Jamal in both Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Kingsman: The Secret Service.
He's also had roles in Jamie in The Smoke, Chuks Akinade in The Tunnel and The Shadow Line.
Don Warrington
The actor stars on the show as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson.
Don Warrington OBE is a stage and screen actor who burst onto the scene as Philip in the seventies TV series Rising Damp.
Since then, his credits have included C.A.T.S. Eyes, To Play the King, Hamlet and Henry IX.
Shyko Amos
Shyko joins the cast as Officer Ruby Patterson, the niece of Commissioner Patterson.
The role is Shkyo’s first big break in the TV world, aside from a brief appearance in A Very English Scandal.
Samuel West
The actor plays Donald McCormack, a business owner who is going broke.
Samuel West was born into a family of actors and has made a career as theatre director, narrator, and actor with credits including Howards End, Notting Hill, Mr Selfridge, Suffragette, On Chesil Beach, Darkest Hour (as Anthony Eden) and The Crown.
Elliot Cowan
The actor plays Donald's younger brother, Aaron McCormack.
He has previously had roles in The Spanish Princess, Krypton, Da Vinci’s Demons, and Mr Darcy 2008 flick, Lost in Austen.
Nell Hudson
Nell plays administrative assistant Tabitha, who works closely with Aaron.
Her previous roles are as Nancy Skerrett in Victoria and Laoghaire in Outlander.
She also played Charlotte Humphreys in Informer and guest-starred in an episode of Call the Midwife.
Adrian Edmondson
The star plays Charles, an accountant, and friend of Donald McCormack.
Adrian has previously starred as Daniel Cook in EastEnders and Superintendent Cliff Walker in Bancroft. You may also remember him as nasty dad William from the mini-series Cheat.
Alex Gaumond
The Canadian actor plays Oscar Samuel, a local man with a drinking problem and a criminal record.
He is best-known for starring on the West End stage – taking on productions including Legally Blonde, Matilda (as Miss Trunchbull), and We Will Rock You.
What's Death In Paradise about?
Death In Paradise is a comedy police show set in the Caribbean.
It follows DI Jack Mooney (Ardal O'Hanlon) and his team as they investigate murder cases on the fictional island of Saint Marie.
Love Actually star Kris Marshall who previously played Detective Humphrey Goodman in the show has described it as a "cross between Columbo and Scooby-Doo."
Ben Miller originally played the lead of Detective Poole but he was killed off at the start of series three and was replaced by Kris Marshall who left before the end of series six.
