WWII veteran thrills GMB viewers with cheeky answers: ‘Brightened up my day!’

Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard interviewed Marjorie Lamb and her son on Good Morning Britain today to discuss the 99-year-old’s pledge to follow in Captain Tom Moore’s footsteps and walk 100 laps of her son’s garden to show her appreciation for the NHS. However, Marjorie’s cheeky answers to the GMB hosts questions led to viewers flocking to Twitter to praise the WWII veteran.

Discussing her inspiration, Marjorie said: “I thought he was tremendous, I really did and I can imagine it although I think I can walk better than he can.”

“He did need his trolley,” she cheekily added with a smile. “I don’t really need mine all the time so I thought I’d go one up on the men.”

Viewers praised the 99-year-old as one tweeted: “Awwww I love Marjorie! She’s brightened up my day already! #GMB @susannareid100 @benshephard.”

“#gmb #marjorie #GMB what a fantastic sense of humour this woman has and what a great way to raise money. You’re an inspiration, Marjorie!” another shared.
