Alison Hammond has revealed her biological father Clifford Hammond has passed away in Jamaica. 

Taking to Instagram, the star, 45, shared the news in a caption revealing: ‘This is my real Dad Clifford Hammond who passed away last week in Jamaica…

‘I’m saddened that I won’t be able to make his funeral and saddened that he wasn’t part of my life as much as I would have liked but I still have a sense of loss and emptiness. Sleep well Daddy, love leaves a memory no on can steal . RIP.’

Alison’s famous friends and This Morning colleagues offered their sympathies to the star, who shot to fame on Big Brother in 2002.

Ruth Langsford penned: ‘Sad to hear that darling….sending you love & a huge hug’, while Holly Willoughby wrote: ‘Alison… sending you so much love’ and Peter Andre professed: ‘Sending all our love’. 

In Feburary, Alison’s mother, Maria, sadly passed away. The Celebs Go Dating and This Morning star wrote on Twitter that her mum had battled liver and lung cancer.

Sharing pictures of her beloved mother, she wrote: ‘I am dedicating this Valentines to my beautiful Mother who sadly passed away from liver and lung cancer.

‘My family and I laid mummy to rest in a beautiful ceremony which I know she would have loved. RIP my best friend and Living Angel please come to my dreams.’

The news comes after Alison made a tearful appearance on This Morning while discussing the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.  

She became emotional as she admitted seeing images of Floyd disgusted her and ‘hurt [her] to the pit of [her] stomach’ as she saw her family members in his place.

In a moving speech, Alison said: ‘I am a mother to a 15-year-old black boy, so, sorry, when I saw that image of George Floyd…

‘I saw my brothers, saw my father, I saw my son, I saw anybody’s son, and I was disgusted to my core and it hurt me to the pit of my stomach to think this is 2020 and we’re seeing that.’

Of the importance of the Black Lives Matters movement, she went on: ‘Let’s be honest it’s been going on forever, my life, my mum’s life, my father’s life.
