If you’ve never witnessed Alison Hammond push a sailor into Royal Albert Dock on live television then you have some serious catching up to do.
The This Morning presenter never fails to amuse viewers with her bubbly personality and hilariousness, including marrying The Rock – as you do – and getting trapped on an inflatable flamingo – again, as you do.
So, without further ado, here’s a look at some of Alison Hammond’s most iconic moments…
The time she pushed a man into deep water in Liverpool
It was the one where we wanted to hide behind our sofas. Yes, the iconic moment of Alison running and jumping onto a map of Great Britain which led to her pushing a poor and unsuspecting man into Royal Albert Dock. Alison walked up and down the British Isles informing viewers whether they were going to see rain or sunshine, but it seems her sailor companion only saw a great deal of wet weather during the presentation.
And viewers weren’t sure whether to laugh more at Alison or at the classic reaction of Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield as they watched on, gobsmacked, back in the This Morning studios. If you haven’t seen this yet, then you really must.
The time she got stuck in an inflatable flamingo
Yes, this really happened. Alison tripped and fell over the top of an inflatable flamingo on This Morning and got stuck in it – oh Alison. The candid presenter was unable to do much, with people laughing around her, and was eventually heaved out of the flamingo by security… now there’s a sentence you never thought you’d read.
The time she was terrified on a kids ride at Disney World
Apparently it’s not just kids that get absolutely terrified on kids rides at Disney World. Alison Hammond does too. The presenter jetted off to Disney World Florida to showcase the new Toy Story world and ended up having to trial a rollercoaster based on a slinky dog which, in her defence, does sound pretty scary.
Alison screamed hysterically as experienced the ride, and those back in the studio couldn’t help but laugh. ‘Someone get her a bag,’ was all Phil could muster between his chuckles.
The time she married The Rock
Yes, this happened. Alison and The Rock were married, sort of. The pair had a ceremony on TV as, while interviewing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Alison revealed a whistle and a diamond ring, all whilst donning a lifeguard vest, and Dwayne got down on one knee to show Alison how he’d propose.
She was later reunited with ‘fiancee’ Dwayne during a press tour for Jumanji and whilst sparks weren’t flying, the banter certainly was.
That time Tom Cruise made her incredibly flustered
Alison was all a quiver when the Tom Cruise accidentally touched her leg during an interview. Alison was interviewing the Hollywood star following his stunt scenes in Mission Impossible: Fallout, and she got flustered when the leg touch occurred.
Tom said: "Sorry about that" as Alison used her cue cards to fan herself as she joked, "it got hot in here all of a sudden."
Alison then proceeded to take a newspaper from her bra and demonstrated how she would also like to be in a spy movie, whilst saying: "I can show you my undercover."
The time she confused sheep shearing with Ed Sheeran
We wish we were joking, but no, Alison Hammond really did confuse sheep shearing with Ed Sheeran.
The presenter started off by pronouncing St Albans wrong, to Holly and Phil’s alarm, and then caused chaos as she said: "I thought it was an interview with Ed Sheeran – but I’m very exciting to learn all about sheep shearing," to Holly and Phil’s embarrassment.
The time she struggled to ski
Alison made January a brighter place this year when she did what she does best and injected some comedy into our lives. Taking to the slopes, Alison chatted to Holly and Phil from the French Alps and managed to go toppling over as she slid off to do some skiing – of course, in true Alison fashion, the alarming affair was caught on camera, leaving Phil and Holly in hysterics.
The time she was nearly arrested
Alison nearly ended up behind bars during a visit to Italy. The film crew came live from the Leaning Tower of Pisa but the police told them to move along. Alison, not a fan of the idea of being arrested said: "Look guys, we haven’t got a permit, we are not allowed to film here. I’m gonna get arrested. I love you all. Laters."
The time she started singing to Bradley Cooper during an interview
We all cringed so hard when Alison decided it was her time to shine during an interview with Bradley Cooper. The This Morning presenter, who shone with confidence, decided it was her time to prove she too could sing and belted out ‘‘Can you feel it when your body’s lying next to mine? Sense is tingling down right through my spine, boy I tell you it could blow my mind. Can you feel it? Can you feel it?’ in a bid to replace Lady Gaga for A Star Is Born 2, which Alison renamed ‘Another Star Is Born.’
Bradley sat there in complete silence, making the situation excruciatingly awkward for viewers, but he still applauded so it wasn’t that bad…
Another Hollywood star, another awkward encounter, and this time it was the turn of Harrison Ford.
Alison admitted that she’d never actually seen Blade Runner and had Harrison in hysterics with her honesty. Her cackle certainly had him cackling, despite his reputation as one of Hollywood’s grumpiest.
