Carol Vorderman: ‘How have I lived without it?’ BBC’s Dan Walker stuns Countdown star

Dan Walker, 42, uploaded a photo of Brussels sprout ketchup to his Twitter followers today, and asked how everyone feels about the unusual condiment. Carol Vorderman, 58, was delighted by the discovery, and was eager to find out where to purchase one herself.

Alongside the snap, Dan asked his followers: “How do you feel about sprout ketchup? 15 of the little blighters squeezed into every bottle with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Would it make it onto your Christmas dinner table? #BBCBreakfast.”

Carol, who has been obsessing over Brussels sprouts the past few weeks, was stunned to find out about the condiment.

She asked the BBC Breakfast presenter: “Omg Dan….where do I buy this wonderful condiment???

“And how have I lived without it in my life?”

The BBC favourite told Carol: “I believe it’s £3 Vorders and available from Amazon.”

The former Countdown star seemed thrilled with Dan’s response, and said: “You’re my very own Fairy Godchild.”

Carol was certainly defensive of the sauce and replied to Absolute Radio’s tweet who called it an “abomination”.

She said: “WHAAAAATTT? Anything sprout like is BLISS ON A PLATTER…..brassicas rule.”

Meanwhile, Carol was back on her BBC Radio Wales show on Saturday, where she chatted to former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! pal Ola Jordan about this year’s series.

Carol asked the former Strictly Come Dancing pro if she has been watching the current series to which the dancer said they’ve been “really cranky”.

“That’s because they weren’t as fabulous as us with winning stars,” Carol replied flippantly.

Ola went on to say: “We were lucky really in the camp with all those lovely people.”

“No one really got that angry in our camp did they,” she added.

Agreeing with her former co-star, Carol replied: “No, no one got hungry because everyone would come back with nine stars or 10 stars.”

Ola added: “Yeah, this year they seem to be getting more angry about it and they’ve only been in there for a week.

“So, it’s quite interesting to watch, don’t get me wrong, it makes great television, everyone wants to see starving celebrities.”
