He left her broken-hearted after he cruelly dumped after his short sting in the Casa Amor villa.

And Curtis Pritchard had an awkward run-in with ex half-girlfriend Amy Hart and he and Maura Higgins joined her for a tense chat on Love Island’s reunion show on Sunday.

As the trio looked like they’d rather be anywhere else, Curtis awkwardly admitted that he still would have dumped Amy if Casa Amor hadn’t happened.

Host Caroline Flack ensured there was plenty of drama during the cringe-inducing chat, bombarding the trio with tricky questions. 

However, the TV star left the islanders wriggling with embarrassment when she asked Curtis – who was sandwiched between his ex and Maura – whether he would have ditched Amy.

As Amy looked on, there was a seriously long silence as the ballroom dancer carefully pondered his answer.

He then admitted that he would have in fact ended his relationship with Amy regardless, stating that their romance wasn’t ‘100% right.’

He continued: ‘It would have ended up happening anyway I think.’

During the chat, with saw Curtis hesitate about whether to sit next to Amy, Maura acknowledged the uncomfortable situation as she came face-to-face with her boyfriend’s ex.

When asked if she had anything to say to Amy, the grid girl replied: ‘I’m not gonna lie, it is awkward.’

But she went on to say that she and Amy left on good terms and hoped they could be friends, adding that ‘the past is the past.’

Speaking to his ex, who looked sensational in a black, lace strapless gown, he said: ‘It was a hard time, it was not the best thing that ever happened but hopefully we can be friends, I would like to be friends in the future.’

While Amy replied that she just wanted him to be happy, adding that was the reason she left. 

Viewers watching at home were quick to comment on Twitter about the cringe scenario, with many commenting on how awkward the reunion was.

Love Island returns for a winter version early next year.
