Harry Styles made an appearance at the Brit Awards 2021 as he took home the prize for British Single. The singer was wearing a checked suit as he took to the stage to accept his award.

Harry won the award for his song Watermelon Sugar at the show.

However, some fans noticed how he slipped into an American accent when he gave his speech.

One penned on Twitter: “Harry Styles speaking with an American accent shocked me to the core.”

Another added: “Well obviously I’m going to need a clip of Harry Styles accent. Please.”

“Ok so, let’s talk about Harry Styles,” penned a third.

“Firstly, there was an awful lot of sniffing there…must be coming down with something. Also, what was that accent?”

Another fan tweeted: “What is that accent Harry Styles is spouting?”

“Harry Styles giving it the full Ringo with that accent, my word,” wrote a fifth.

Weighing in, another follower penned: “Since when did Harry Styles adopt an American accent? Hahah.”

Harry appeared at the show while taking a break from filming his latest project.

He’s currently filming My Policeman alongside The Crown star Emma Corrin.

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Dua Lipa flaunted her figure in suspenders.

The singer wore her hair in a beehive which she paired with a yellow mini-dress.

The star was performing in tonight’s show and featured in Maya Jama’s backstage chat as well.

The BRIT awards are being hosted tonight by Jack Whitehall.

This is his fourth time hosting the award ceremony.

The BRITs were last on air in February 2020 in a pre-pandemic broadcast.

However, the ceremony is now one of the first trial events without social distancing.

The show is being broadcast from the O2 Arena with some pre-recorded elements involved.

Coldplay opened the ceremony with a performance on the River Thames.
