I want my twins to go to church school like I did, says Frankie Essex

Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, in May, and has since revealed to the world that they’ve named their little bundles of joy Logan and Luella.

In her exclusive column for OK!, Frankie’s discussed a range of topics in regards to motherhood – from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to returning to the gym and moving in with cousin Chloe Sims while their family home is being renovated.

This week, Frankie gives an update on baby Logan after the tot recently broke out with hives and discusses the prospect of having more children one day.

Update on Logan

Logan’s doing okay. He had another little hive on his leg the other day, but I’m literally just keeping an eye on him and checking him over daily. He seems fine! He sometimes gets a bit irritated and I’ll see a hive and think ‘is it that?’. It’s really hard because we don’t know what it is so they’ve referred us to a specialist. We’ve just got to wait for the letter now from the NHS.

Luella’s absolutely fine, but Logan was born with a newborn rash. Apparently a lot of babies get it, so I don’t know if it’s down to that. Others asked if they came up after his injections, but I know for a fact he was getting [the hives] before.

I’m not one to go take them to the doctors for every single little thing – I’ll often look it up on Google or put some ointment to calm it down. There’s a strain on the NHS anyway, but I don’t want his hives to go to the extremes of what I get.

The twins turn three months

We’re not doing anything to celebrate the twins turning three months, but on Sunday we had a really nice day out and we had an Indian takeaway.

They’re both growing so much though. This morning they woke up and downed three bottles before 1 o'clock! I thought, ‘what the hell?!’.

Logan’s really slim and long, and Luella’s just a little round child. They’re so different, it’s so funny. She’s really full on her bully, and he’s really slim.

Expanding the brood…

I can’t see myself only being pregnant once. When Luella’s older, she’s going to want another baby. I always wanted my mum to have another baby when I was older because I was obsessed with dolls. But, we’ll see… that’s not for a long time. We need to get the house finished, I want to go on holiday, and enjoy [the twins]. We’ve got so, so much to do – so many adventures to go on with them and stuff.

One of my friends has twins and I think they’re around eight years old and she’s just had another baby. Having just one after twins, she said to me ‘Oh my god Frankie, it’s an absolute breeze’. I was just like, I bet it is! She’s out all the time doing this and that and I’m never out. If I am, I’m with Luke.

Sending the twins to Church school

I really want the twins to go to a Church school. That’s the plan anyway. When they’re a little bit older, I want to start taking them to Church because right now they don’t know when to be quiet. There’s a little church down the road and they do mass on a Sunday morning. I love going to midnight mass at Christmas and doing things like that.

In my opinion, Church schools are much better schools. Obviously they’re not private, but they’re on par. When I lived in South London I used to go to Church school before we moved to Chigwell, and I remember moving and we had trays in the Chigwell school, while my other school had China plates. It was really different.

I was only like nine years old but I really remember the difference. At my school in London, every Wednesday a vicar would come in and we’d sing Church songs and things, and when I moved to Chigwell it wasn’t like that anymore.

I definitely want the twins to experience that as children. I think it’s really nice to be part of the Church and things like doing the Nativity play at Christmas. I think it’s really cute and it’s nice. I just want the kids to be part of the Church and understand it.
