‘I had to be rushed into surgery’: Jane Asher’s brother Peter reveals he’s recovering from an emergency brain operation after his wife and daughter forced him to be checked by medics
Jane Asher’s brother Peter has revealed that he’s recovering from a recent emergency brain operation.
The musician, 78, was rushed into surgery after having an MRI scan, which occurred after his wife and daughter forced him to be checked over by medics after he fell ill.
Peter told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: ‘I wasn’t feeling 100 per cent, so I went to get an MRI [scan] after my wife and daughter insisted I check things out.’

The guitarist, one half of 1960s pop duo Peter and Gordon, added: ‘Good thing I did, because I had to be rushed into surgery from there.’
Peter went on to give further details about his health before adding that he’s on the road to recovery.
He remarked: ‘Two small holes in my head, but I am on the mend and should be out of here by next week.’

Peter found fame as part of duo Peter and Gordon, having formed the band with former school pal Gordon Waller in 1962.
He went on to work as a manager and record producer, helping to kickstart the careers of the likes of James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt.
He most recently performed part of the duo Peter and Jeremy, with Jeremy Clyde.

The pair’s biggest hit A World Without Love was written for them by Sir Paul McCartney, who at the time was in a relationship with Peter’s sister Jane.
Jane and Paul dated for five years until the actress and chef dumped him live on TV in 1968.
Paul went on to marry Linda Eastman, who died in 1998 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
He was also married to Heather Mills for six years and is currently wed to Nancy Shevell, whom he tied the knot with in 2011.
