Kate Silverton is a well-known face on our screens having presented both BBC News and on prime time show Panorama. In 2018, Kate competed on Strictly Come Dancing where she wowed the nation, but what is known of Kate’s life away from the screen?
What age is Kate Silverton?
Kate was born August 4, 1970, which makes the BBC journalist 50-years-old.
Kate has two children with husband Mike Heron, son Wilbur and daughter Clemency.
The BBC star welcomed her daughter in 2011 a year after she tied the knot with husband Mike.

Kate has since spoken of how she feels blessed to have had her children.
In an interview earlier this year she said: “I lost an ovary during an operation to remove a cyst at the age of 29.
“Was told I was unlikely to get pregnant and had four failed cycles of IVF before conceiving twice naturally, so Mike and I feel blessed to have had children.”
Talking to the Evening Standard in 2014, the mother of two spoke of the difference in motherhood for the modern generation.
She said: “I feel for your generation. There is a huge amount of pressure for the modern couple.
“You are going to have it even tougher because you will see what has happened with women who delay having children because we have been working so hard or haven’t found the right partner that you will think, ‘hang on a minute, is it better to have my children older or younger?’ There is no easy answer.”
Kate went on to say: “In my thirties, I was able to establish my career so now I am able to step back and fit work around my children.
“I know not everyone has that luxury — in the future we might look back on that and think it was terribly sad, I’m not sure we got it right.”

Talking of her relationship to Mike in a 2018 interview, Kate said: “I did date quite a bit before I met him.
“Not to compare Mike to a house, but if you’ve seen enough and experienced enough, then you know what works.
“He has no ego. And we ebb and flow together in parenting and how we work.
“IVF was a difficult time for us. But he brings me peace.”
Away from her family life, Kate is known for presenting on BBC News as well as Panorama.
In 2018, Kate appeared on Strictly Come Dancing alongside dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec.
The couple were eliminated from the competition in week nine.
