Kelly Clarkson performed a cover of the The Killers‘ classic track “Mr. Brightside” on her daytime talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
Accompanied by her remotely-distanced band, Y’all, Clarkson delivered a solid performance of the 2003 single.
“Now I’m falling asleep/ And she’s calling a cab/ And he’s having a smoke/ And she’s taking a drag/ Now they’re going to bed/ And my stomach is sick/ And it’s all in my head/ But she’s touching his chest now/ He takes off her dress now/ Letting me go/ And I just can’t look, it’s killing me/ And taking control,” Clarkson sings.
“Mr. Brightside” featured on The Killers’ debut album Hot Fuss. The track peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Clarkson has covered several classic songs since “The Kelly Clarkson Show” premiered, including Tegan and Sara‘s “Closer,” Coldplay‘s “The Scientist,” and Shania Twain‘s “No One Needs To Know.”
