Jacques O’Neill has spoken out about his emotional departure from Love Island earlier this week admitting he feared he would “get physical”.
The reality star, 23, made the dramatic decision to quit the show amid the aftermath of his actions at Casa Amor where he kissed bombshell Cheyanne, which left him and Paige Thorne on the rocks.
Since his exit, the rugby player has spoken to The Sun about the real reasons he walked away, including his anger towards new bombshell Adam Collard who was vying for the attention of Jacques' love interest Paige Thorne.
He said: “I thought if I don’t get myself out things could go horribly wrong and I could get physical.
“Doing Love Island was the worst decision of my life. I was ready to break down.”
He went on: “I was feeling so mentally drained, I just wanted to go home and get myself right.
“It broke me and I was already broken. I was crying my eyes out. I couldn’t cope.
“I was literally feeling awful. It was the worst I’d ever felt in my life.”
The news of his exit came after Monday night's episode showed a teaser ofJacques furiously branding newcomer Adam Collard as "nothing".
His explosive comment came after it was alleged that Adam, 26, had been "s******g him off" to Paige, 24, who he has since coupled up with.
Gemma Owen,who previously dated Jacques, could be heard saying: "Oh he was proper s******g you off!"
To which a furious Jacques responded by standing up and storming off as the Islanders shouted: "No, no, no!"
It then cut to Jacques heading over to Paige as he asked: "Adam been s******g me off? Who the f**k is he, just another geezer who has been on the show. He's f**king nothing mate!"
Jacques himself was a bombshell, and sparks were flying between him and Paige from the moment they met.
He quickly caught feelings for the Welsh stunner, and soon admitted to Luca Bish thathe'd rather be with Paigethan his ex, Gemma.
"I'd much rather be with Paige than Gem. Like 1000 per cent," he said at the start of his romance with Paige.
"Like I could literally go out with Paige, be myself and the next day wake up and have no issues, at all. Even if I’d said something wrong, or anything. But if I did that with Gem I’ve got questions to answer the next day," he added.
