Sir Mo Farah was one of 10 celebrities to enter the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here castle on Sunday night, kicking off this year’s season with a bang. Straight away the celebs were thrown into the deep end, with five of them having to propel off a cliff to collect bags for their first night in the castle.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, I’m a Celeb has stayed in the UK this year, and has set up camp in Gwyrch Castle, North Wales.

The celebrities had to isolate and take coronavirus tests before entering the castle, with stringent measures in place.

Already the famous campmates have been put through their paces, competing in a trial for their first meal.

All 10 celebs took part, having to pass stars through a winding maze with their fingers to bank supplies for dinner that night.

No stranger to speed, Sir Mo was the contestant at the end of the chain making sure the stars were banked in time.

Their feat won them seven meals for camp, which included rabbit meat and vegetables.

Some of the campmates were uneasy when it came to eating rabbit, with Jessica Plummer revealing she couldn’t eat the meat as she had owned a pet rabbit named Boris when she was young.

The food is notoriously hit and miss on I’m a Celeb, not to mention the often disgusting eating challenges.

Sir Mo will be now getting used to life in the camp, however, there is one thing he has requested during his stay.

While he is not vegan or vegetarian, the request comes down to how meals are prepared.

The Olympic gold medal winner has requested any meals involving meat to be halal meat.

Halal meat is meat which is prepared in accordance with Muslim law.

An unnamed source said: “Mo told producers a long time ago about his food preferences, so they were prepared.

“He can’t eat certain food unless it’s prepared in the correct way according to his religion.”

Mo will be taking part in the Bushtucker Trials should he get voted or volunteers as Muslim rules do not forbid it.

The I’m a Celeb producers have fulfilled a request like this previously, for Amir Khan in 2017.

Tonight Shane Richie and Jordan North will be taking part in the second trial of the show, ominously named The Viper Vault.

Time will tell if the pair manage to win meals for camp, after having to contend with snakes in a confined space.

Already Jordan North, Mo Farah and Shane Richie are at the top of the betting with Ladbrokes to be crowned as the King of the Castle this year.

  • Shane 4/1
