Owen Warner says he will be more respectful in relationships in future after Im A Celeb stint

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! runner-up Owen Warner has said he'll "be more respectful in relationships in the future" after his appearance on the show.

The Hollyoaks actor, 23, who was surprised by his lookalike brothers following the show's end, came second to ultimate winner and Queen of the Jungle, Jill Scott, on Sunday night's finale (27 Nov), ahead of disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

And now he's spoken about his time in the jungle, saying that he "went in a boy and came out a man", praising fellow campmate Babatúndé Aléshé for teaching him all about love and romance.

Owen said: "Baba is the geeze for relationship advice. Honestly, the way he talks about Leonie [his wife], I know they have got a beautiful relationship. I was like, listening him talking about Leonie and I thought, 'I need to soak everything this geezer has to offer'."

"He was so respectful about her, the way he spoke about her, I was like, 'Right, this is the sort of attitude I could learn a lot from'."

"I will definitely be taking his advice into my relationships."

Owen is currently single, but has previously been in relationships with Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry and fellow Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis, both of which were shortlived.

Ahead of his time in camp he said he was looking for love, but now insists he's not exactly in a rush to find a girlfriend following his jungle exit.

Instead, he's looking forward to catching up with his beloved mum, Polly, who he's incredibly close with – they usually speak on the phone every single day.

He said of being away from his mum for over a month: "It was absolutely horrible. I am never going to let that happen again.

"Right now I am thinking mum is not here? Where? All through the jungle I was chatting about my mum so much to everyone, just constantly. I spoke about her more than food and that is saying something.

"I missed my whole family a lot but my mum is a massive, massive part of my life and I missed her to pieces. Absolute pieces.

"The only girl that my mind is on is my mum. I have not spoken to her for five weeks properly and I have got all of that catching up to do, all that time, my mind is on my mum and that is it."

Owen became well known pretty quickly for his intense hunger while in the jungle, and couldn't wait for a barber to finish his haircut when he got out of camp before eating.

He explained: "I have eaten a lot since I left. I was getting a haircut while eating my pizza. Like, anytime he was cutting my hair, he stopped for a second and I was shoving pizza in my mouth. I would also recommend it. I don't think now I am going to get a trim without food!"

"I am 78kg. I was 85kg when I went in but give me a week and I will be back to 85. This week I reckon I am just going to eat as much as I can, pile it on and start gym next week I reckon."

On show winner, former Lioness Jill Scott, he added: "I don't know what everyone has seen on screen, but the fact that she has won, I am guessing you saw how much of a legend she was.

"That girl, she is the sweetest soul. From the moment I met her, I was like, 'Who is this gem? Who have I just met?' The fact that we got on so well I felt honoured.

"I have not even spent time on the outside world with her but I know we are going to be really close friends. I love Jill to pieces, she is an absolute legend. She kept my mind busy in there a lot and to have someone like that in there that you get on with so well that is basically like an older sister, it was crucial in there.

"Everyone was like a little family but my big sister was a main part of that definitely."
