Piers Morgan leads well wishes as Freddie Flintoff crashes car

Piers Morgan, 57, has sent his well wishes to Freddie Flintoff after he was taken to hospital following an accident on the Top Gear set yesterday. A BBC spokesperson has said the former cricketer is currently undergoing treatment but that his injuries are not life-threatening. 

The 45-year-old crashed his car on Top Gear’s test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey.

He received medical care at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

It is understood that the accident did not happen at high speed.

Reacting to the news, Piers Morgan wrote: “Freddie Flintoff’s crash while filming Top Gear sounds very nasty. Hope the great man is OK.”

A BBC spokesperson has said: “Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning – with crew medics attending the scene immediately.

“He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course.”
