S Club 7’s Jo O’Meara looks almost unrecognisable after health kick: ‘I’ve given up smoking and alcohol’

Jo O’Meara has revealed her shock transformation after giving up smoking and alcohol.

The former S Club 7 star looked years younger than her 41 years in a new snap she posted on Instagram Stories, revealing she had also overhauled her diet and kick-started an exercise regime.

Displaying an impressive before and after, the singer explained that she’d gone on a health kick and now feels “like a different person”.

She wrote: “Just goes to show you [what] dedication can do!

“Eating clean, training hard, quitting smoking, and quitting alcohol! I feel like a different person!”

The star has also had work done on her teeth, telling followers on Instagram: “I have something to SMILE about.”

Jo rose to fame in the late nineties as the lead singer of chart-topping pop group S Club 7.

More recently she had been performing with bandmates Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh as S Club 3, but quit the trio in September, explaining that she was set to focus on her solo career.

Jo, who wowed the public with a series of performances online from her Essex home during the coronavirus summer lockdown, revealed she is working on a new album.

She explained: “I just wanted to say to all my fans a massive thank you for the love and support you have given me through all these years in S Club 7 and then SC3!

“As you know by now I have a new album coming and I am excited to start a new and exciting chapter in my life!

“I wanted to be the first to tell you that I will no longer be a part of SC3 as I want to fully focus on my solo career and making new music!

“There is lots of exciting times ahead and I hope to see you all with me on my journey!! I love you all very much.”

After walking away from S Club 3, Jo has been replaced in the trio by former X Factor contestant, Geordie Shore star Amelia Lily, who will be performing with Tina and Bradley in the future.

Jo recently gave an update on her upcoming album, revealing that she was making decisions on which tracks to include on the final cut.

She wrote on Instagram: “It’s all been going on at the studio and decisions are being made! Bring on 2021.”
