Steph McGovern shares tights story on Steph’s Packed Lunch
Former BBC Breakfast host Steph McGovern, who fronts her self-titled Channel 4 show, addressed the toughest challenges she has faced this year. The TV presenter admitted it was “hard to get by each week” as she spoke openly about life in lockdown.
The 38-year-old rarely discusses life with her partner and tends to keep her private life away from the cameras.
Steph, who welcomed the couple’s daughter last year, admitted the pair struggled not being able to see their family after having a newborn.
The Channel 4 presenter explained it was “tough” not being able to see their daughter’s grandparents during the lockdown.
Speaking about her lowest moments this year, Steph confessed: “It’s really obvious, not seeing my friends and family. I just really miss them.

“And my daughter’s grandparents not getting to see her for so long in a year where she has changed so much, that was the tough thing.
“There’s only so much FaceTime you can do with a one-year-old.”
The small-screen star, who fronts Steph’s Packed Lunch, explained that she often sets herself goals but was unable to this year because of lockdown.
“Not knowing when it was going to end,” Steph mused. “I’m someone who does set myself targets and goalposts, and say ‘it’ll be alright because by July, we will be doing this, this and this’.
“And it just felt like we couldn’t do that, and therefore it was hard to get by each week.”
The mum-of-one gushed over her partner as she admitted being blessed to have her other half’s support.
“But that’s the same for everyone, I have an incredible amount of respect for everyone trying to get through it because it is hard,” Steph added to Huffington Post.
“I’m lucky that I’ve got my partner – I don’t know how single parents have done it.”

It is not known how long Steph has been with her partner, however, she announced they had welcomed their first child together back in November last year.
Despite her baby and partner’s identity being private, the ex-BBC star recently dished on her family life.
In a recent episode of her Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch, she told guests about a “deal” she had with her partner at home.
Midway through the segment, Steph’s guest asked her who was responsible for the cooking in her home.
“My partner does it, so we’ve got a deal, I do the bins and,” she began to explain before she was interrupted by laughter from the audience.
She added: “Bins are awful, aren’t they?
“Especially when it’s raining and you get covered in bin juice. There’s nothing worse!”
Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 12.30pm.
