Aside from some ongoing beef with an artist who claims Lizzo stole her ““I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that bitch” lyric, Lizzo is pretty much everyone’s favorite rapper right now. But after she tweeted about a negative Postmates experience she had yesterday, her fans are accusing her of “publicly shaming someone in the service industry.”
In a now-deleted tweet, Lizzo wrote, “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more.” The tweet also included a screenshot of the app and a picture of the courier.
Postmates responded to her, apologized, and asked that she message them privately so they can look into the situation.
Once all her fans saw it, they started making the same joke about her “Truth Hurts” lyric and wrote, “Turns out she’s 100% that snitch.” Others chimed in below the Postmates tweet and wrote:
To be fair to Lizzo, if her claim is true, she’s definitely allowed to be upset that someone stole her food and wasted her money. And just because she’s wealthy and famous, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t report issues like these if she truly suspects someone stole her items. It’s also possible that Lizzo tried to handle it privately on the Postmates app before taking it to Twitter and DMing the company after they asked her to.
Whatever the case may be, Postmates told People magazine that the situation has been handled and said, “As soon as Lizzo reached out, we looked into the matter and quickly resolved the issue. We apologize to Lizzo for any inconvenience.” But they didn’t say what happened to the delivery person or if they actually stole Lizzo’s food.
