Dr. Martens Celebrates 60th Anniversary of the 1461 With Fresh Batch of Colorways

In the early months of 2021, Dr. Martens has been going full force on collaborations as it has worked alongside the likes of Suicoke, Rick Owens, Supreme and more. For April, the UK-based shoe manufacturer is switching gears and reverting our attention back to its mainline to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its 1461.

April 1, 2021 marked six decades of existence of the low-cut silhouette, and so Dr. Martens is paying homage to its mainstay boot by crafting it an array of new colorways and variations. Some of the adjusted models include that of the 1461 Leo Zip and the 1461 Elastic, the former hosting a small sized zipper near the ankle while the latter is bereft of any laces and instead opts for a stretchy band. The 1461 Iced is a brand new offering that bears icy treading down below and its colorways include that of “Black”, “Cherry Red”, and a Summer-y “Pale Pink”. Elsewhere in this celebratory initiative you’ll find the 1461 Peppermint Green which is manufactured with an archival shade that floods its entire smooth leather upper.

If interested in adding a pair to your rotation, each of these makeups are available now via the Dr. Martens online store. Prices range from $120-130 USD depending on the model.

In case you missed it, King Nerd and Dr. Martens recently partnered up for engraved 1460 and 1461 collaborations.
