NIGO's Extensive Vintage Collection Goes on Display at Bunka Gakuen Costume Museum

Known for being an extensive collector of all things retro, Japanese streetwear legend NIGO recently opened up an exhibition at Bunka Gakuen Costume Museum to showcase all the vintage wares in his possession. Dubbed “NIGO’s VINTAGE ARCHIVE,” the exhibition curated by NIGO is also in partnership with prolific Tokyo vintage names sukimonobook and suntrap.

Aside from being an in-depth showcase of all the vintage items NIGO has collected throughout his life, the exhibition offers a comprehensive look at specific items lauded in the world of heritage garments. Lee denim serves as a major component of the exhibition with a long lineup of Lee Storm Rider Denim Jackets, Rodeo Jeans, and accompanying paraphernalia like banners and posters. Other items featured include a colorful array of Peanuts Snoopy sweatshirts arranged in a pyramid shape and various forms of collegiate clothing representative of Ivy styling prevalent in Japan’s fashion history.
