The month of Ramadan, observed by Muslims worldwide as a time to reflect, pray, fast, and spend time with family members and the community, is a matter of weeks away. In honor of the religious period, Virgil Abloh‘s Off-White™ HOME has released an exclusive homeware collection dedicated to Ramadan.
Comprising both soft furnishings and lifestyle accessories, the collection features a teapot set (containing four cups and a teapot), a serving tray, and everyday cozy essentials such as a pair of indoor slippers, a knitted blanket, and a pillow in sizes small or large. All six items observe the theme of “taking the familiar and making them new,” which is done using a special taupe and metallic gold color scheme that finds itself dressing everything in the HOME drop.
Naturally, Off-White™‘s signatures frequent throughout the collection in the form of the arrow cross that’s embroidered into the vamp section of the slippers, or the repeated “OFF” branding that is stamped on the perimeter of the tea set, tray, and soft furnishings.
While Off-White™ HOME’s offerings can sometimes leave a lot to be desired — see its clocks or bedding for example — this Ramadan capsule is an example of when the brand gets it right. The tea set and tray are made from a unique mottled gray ceramic, which like the throw and cushion’s unfinished hems, give the pieces a natural and hand-made feel we seldom see in Off-White™’s collections.
The Off-White™ HOME Ramadan collection can be seen in the gallery above and purchased on Off-White™’s website now. Prices range from $246 USD to $593 USD.
