RIMOWA has reunited with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham for another limited-edition collaboration.
When the two first joined forces, the result was a one-of-a-kind Eroded Suitcase. Now, RIMOWA and Arsham are presenting an Eroded Turntable inside of the luggage brand’s reissued Pilot Case. Appearing in a dusty chalk white shade, the hand-cast turntable is crafted from plaster and crushed glass.
In line with RIMOWA’s signature fabrication, the Pilot Case comes in grooved aluminum. Finishing off the piece is an array of vintage-style logos in Arsham Green Pantone. The limited-edition Pilot Case is set to come in silver and black with 500 units to be made per color.
“RIMOWA and I share an interest in process, in an object’s evolution over time,” said Arsham in a release. “A suitcase is covered by stickers or blemishes; a sculpture erodes and crystallizes. We also both share a commitment to honing one’s craft, as well as archiving.”
Retailing for $3000 USD, the new RIMOWA x Daniel Arsham limited edition Eroded Turntable in Pilot Case releases on Friday, September 16 on Arsham’s website, RIMOWA’s website and select RIMOWA stores.
