Arsene Wenger, 71, is a French former football manager and player who was manager of Arsenal from 1996 to 2018. The football legend has now a staggering fortune.
Arsene was born and raised in France and started playing football when he was only 12.
His father introduced him to football at a very young age and after a long and successful career, the manager has amassed an impressive fortune. But how much?
According to CelebrityNetWorth, Arsene is worth an eye-watering £35 million and has an annual salary of £7 million.
This works out to be around £585,333 per month and £19,000 a day.
Arsene joined his father’s football team when he was 12 and made it to the first professional team by the age of 16.
Wenger studied politics and economics but 10 years later he decided to earn a manager’s diploma.
During his years as a manager, he was called “Le Professeur” for his studious demeanour.
Arsene was the manager of Arsenal from 1996 to 2018 and is considered the longest-serving and most successful in the club’s history.
He led the team through three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.
When Arsene joined in 1996, he was said to be earning £500,000 per season.
A few years later, in 2002, he was offered a contract worth £2million a year.
He soon gained a reputation for being able to spot young talent and focusing on upcoming football stars rather than recruiting expensive players.
Arsene left the club in 2018 after a period of uncertainty.
“After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season. I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years,” he said when he left.
Wenger admitted in his recent autobiography leaving Arsenal was a “very lonely, very painful” separation.
The former manager is currently serving as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
Arsene married former basketball player Annie Brosterhous but the couple split in 2015.
They have one daughter together, Lea who is 24 years old.
Arsene now lives between London and Paris.
In London, he reportedly owns a £6.5million mansion in the exclusive area of Totteridge.
