Callum Jones says he knew he and Molly would go the distance when he was in the villa

Love IslandstarCallum Joneshas been happily loved up with girlfriendMolly Smithafter they met in the villa on the first ever winter version of ITV’s hit dating show in 2020.

Since he left the show, the star opened up about mealtimes in the villaincluding the news that Saturdays are left for takeaways for the contestants.

Callum, 25, met longtime girlfriend Molly, 27, on the Casa Amor segment of the show and spoke to OK! about how the couple have a daily routine to watch the series together and the memories it brought back for them both.

“We watch one episode of Stranger Things together and then Love Island at 9pm. We proper get involved, Molly loves it.”

Callum appeared on the winter series in 2020, where he was originally coupled up withShaughna Phillipsand she evencalled him "my man" after just one day of knowing him .

However, it wasn’t until Casa Amor that his head was truly turned as Molly walked in and immediatelyshared a kiss with the Islander during a challenge.

He explained what watching Casa Amor this year meant for him: “I can kind of relate to a bit of the emotions and some of the people. Obviously the situations that happened in there are the same that happened in my series.”

Callum explained that he knew from then that he and Molly would last outside the series, though joked he’s “no relationship guru”.

He said: “I feel like when you’re in there you know if it's going to work on the outside. If you’ve got common ground then it will and obviously distance comes in as a factor as well.”

Speaking of distance, thepair share an incredible four bedroom home in Manchester and he credits their closeness for keeping their relationship going.

“I just think we got on so well and we were together through lockdown for a while. It worked in our favour because we were together all the time – I think it was a positive more than a negative.”

Callum is a self confessed foodie and often takes Instagram to show off his delicious meals so its no surprise that during this year’s series the kitchen was the biggest difference from when he went on the show.

“The main one for me is the food that they got. In our series we didn't have much and now in this series, they’re getting smoothie machines, strawberries and everything. We didn’t get none of that.”

This year’s series has seen plenty of drama and bombshells and while Callum laughs that Davide has him in stitches, this year has been his favourite yet because of “all the drama involved”.

There was even more added drama when former contestantAdam Collardstepped into the villa andtook three of the girls on a date.

For Callum and Molly watching at home, the bombshell’s entry was “absolutely mad”: “They’ve absolutely mixed it up this year. I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed that they would have thrown an old Islander in there so when I see him I thought ‘no way’.

“Obviously he caused drama last time he was in there, so sure he’ll be doing the same this year.”
