Foodie shares life-changing broccoli cooking hack – but not everyone is a fan

A woman has revealed her “life-changing” broccoli cooking hack that ensures no mess and requires little effort – but some foodies are not quite convinced.

Stephanie, who posts under the username @steph2302 on TikTok, has gone viral on the video sharing site after sharing her trick to cook the tree-like vegetable without the fuss of having to clean out a sieve.

In the clip that has racked up 805,000 views, Stephanie boiled a saucepan of water on the hob and placed a full fresh broccoli in it.

She wrote: “Turns out not everyone cooks their broccoli like this.”

Instead of cutting the broccoli up before putting it in the pan, Stephanie planted the vegetable so the stem is poking out of the water, with only the head submerged into the liquid.

The food enthusiast then took the broccoli out of the water as she picked it up by the dry stem.

She then cut off the head of the vegetable and discarded the stem – without having to use a sieve and clean up the tiny offcuts of the head.

Stephanie described her method as “easy, no sieving, no messing.”

Stunned at the cooking hack, many people fled to the comments to express their excitement of the interesting way of boiling broccoli.

One person commented: “Omg life changing.”

Another user added: “What. Why didn’t I know this.”

Whilst a third person voiced: “This is incredible.”

However, not everyone is so impressed with Steph’s hack.

Others pointed out that the stem is the ‘best’ part of the vegetable and should not be wasted.

One user shared: “The stem is the best bit.”

Someone else remarked: “Don’t waste the stem girl.”

And, this user expressed: “The stem is good for you though.”
