Influencer shows off real body – exclaiming were not supposed to be perfect

Social media star Bree Lenehan has compared her 'real' body to posed snaps as she told fans "we're not supposed to be perfect".

The body positive influencer, who boasts 614,000 Instagram followers, took to the site to share the side-by-snaps and inspirational message.

The Aussie star told her supporters that they shouldn't be in competition with their "social media self".

Instead, she urged them to embrace the real version of themselves.

The first snap saw Bree suck in her stomach and stick out her rear in the left-hand side snap as she showed off a svelte figure.

While on the right, Bree relaxed to let her natural stomach show as she rocked a bright smile.

The second photo, which saw her wear the same white crop top and mini skirt, saw her do the same.

Bree also shared similar snaps in various other outfits as she told fans their body size wasn't a measure of their worth.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "You are not in competition with the social media version of yourself.

"Or a smaller version of yourself. Or a younger version of yourself. Or a 'perfect' version of yourself. Or anyone else for that matter.

"You are exactly where you are supposed to be, right now.

"Take note of the REAL smile in the first slide here.

"In the past I would’ve believed the better photo is the one my body looks more toned & 'Insta-worthy' in, but now I realise we’re all worthy of being seen no matter what, and the best photos are the ones we’re just being our comfortable, happy selves in."

She continued: "You know, I used to allow the way I viewed my body to dictate how much I should or shouldn’t eat, or what I should or shouldn’t wear.

"I felt bad for bloating. I felt bad that my body changed & expanded after eating or drinking.

"I wouldn’t wear a fitted dress if my body did expand throughout the day. I’d change into something baggy if my tummy wasn’t flat or if my cellulite was too noticeable.

"When I used to go out, I was too busy worrying about the way I looked or how others perceived me to enjoy myself & actually LIVE in that moment.

"WHY??? Why do we do this to ourselves? We’re not supposed to be perfect (whatever 'perfect' is).

"Plus, everyone is too busy worrying about themselves to criticise you!"

Bree concluded: " So… This week I challenge you to fuel your body & still wear that cute dress or those shorts or whatever outfit it is that you’ve been too afraid to wear — and just ROCK IT!!

"This weekly series is here to remind you not to compare your life or your body to someone on the internet, to encourage you to be a little gentler with yourself as we go into a new week & to give you some examples of HOW you might be able to do that."

Fans were loving the inspiring post, with it racking up more than 41,000 likes.

One exclaimed: "You are so incredible, I appreciate this authenticity."

While another added: "My fav page, thank you beautiful."

A third also chimed in: "Preach! I'm 50 years old and still compare myself to others. You are a Godsend!"

Bree is known for her body positive posts, with the social media star recently showing off her cellulite too.
