When restrictions lifted on Monday, the bank announced that branch opening hours would change.

The majority are now opening for longer hours than during lockdown, the bank said.

Hours vary from branch to branch but you can use the bank's locator tool to check your local store's opening times.

It comes after Lloyds banking group permanently closed dozens of branches across the country last year.

During the first lockdown, some branches closed and others operated at reduced hours from 10am to 2pm on weekdays with no weekend openings.

Lloyds told the son that while branches are still open the "safest way" to bank with them at the moment is through the app or online banking.

Meanwhile, call centres are also open as normal.

A spokesperson said: “The safest way to bank with us right now is from home, either using our app or through Online Banking. If you do need to visit us in branch, please check our latest opening hours before you visit.

"To protect you and our staff, we’ve put social distancing measures in place in our branches so you can bank with us safely. You'll also be asked to wear a face covering.

"When you visit, we may ask you to wait outside if it’s busy and things may take a little more time to complete, but we’ll help you as quickly as we can, so please bear with us."
