I’ve never had a complex about my height but I’m wondering if I do now

DEAR DEIDRE: I AM a young, single, good-looking man and have never had a problem with the opposite sex.

A woman who I like is the same age as me, 27. We hang out in the same group and really make each other laugh.

There is a definite attraction between us but at 6ft she is much taller than me.

I’m 5ft 6in and although I’ve never had a complex before about my height, I’m wondering if I do now.

When I last saw her, in September, she lifted me on to her lap, then picked me up and carried me through to the kitchen, plopping me on the worktop, giggling as she did it.

I was mortified. She has since texted me and admitted she would like us to get together.

But I don’t know how I feel about it.

DEIDRE SAYS: You have an issue with being ridiculed – not your height.

Be honest with this woman and explain to her that you don’t feel comfortable with her making jokes about your stature.

If you are going to explore a future together, you will need some more consideration.

She was probably trying to make a connection with you – albeit a clumsy attempt.
