Model spends £5,000 on plastic surgery to reduce forehead size by 3cm

A woman who felt self-conscious about her forehead since she was a teenager decided to get plastic surgery to reduce the size of it.

Camilla Coleman Brooks had an 8.5cm forehead, which is 2.5cm bigger than the average.

So the 26-year-old, from North Carolina in the US, used to cover up part of her face with a fringe in order to feel more confident.

After fretting about her appearance for 10 years, the mum-of-two forked out £5,000 to get forehead reduction op.

In the two-and-a-half hour operation, surgeons moved her hairline to reduce the size of her forehead by 3cm.

The surgeon, who works at Zeeba Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, carefully cut out the area marked for removal before joining the top incision with the forehead incision.

Camilla, who works as a model, said: "I used to look in the mirror and all I would see was a huge forehead.

"When I was younger I would always style my hair and notice how big it looked.

"For the last few years I've hid it under a fringe or a hat.

"I am so happy with the results now that I've had the surgery.

"I didn't need the procedure to make me happy, but I love how I now look."

Camilla added: "No one really bullied me for it but it was something I didn't like.

"Having surgery was something I wanted to do for myself.

"It wasn't that I didn't like how I looked, I just wanted to be more proportional.

"My forehead used to be 8.5cm and now it is 5.5cm," she said.

"It's an amazing difference."

Camilla kept bandages on her forehead as she recovered from the op for a few days – and she also has swelling and marks on her skin due to the incision.

She added: "A couldn't move my eyebrows properly for the first fews days but it's back to normal now.

“The top part of my forehead is still numb and it may take a while for the feeling to return there."

The bruising should heal within a few weeks but Camilla is already chuffed with the results.

She said: "I look in the mirror and I love it. I didn't need it to be happier, but I am so glad I did it."

While Camilla has received some negative comments from trolls after going under the knife, her 26-year-old partner Terrance is supportive of her decision.

As well as being backed by her other half, who is a soldier in the US army, the model has no regrets about getting the surgery.

She explained: "It's my body. I think people are so shocked by it because it is something they haven't heard of."

She is open with her children Owen, four, and Dorian, seven and believes that we should be able to do what we want with our bodies.

Camilla added: "It was something I wanted to do for myself and I couldn't be happier with the results."
