  • Sophie Shakeshaft, 21, a model from Birmingham, took to TikTok to show how 8 pairs of size 12 trousers from Asos, Pretty Little Thing, Topshop and Boohoo
  • While some fit like a glove, others were very roomy and some didn’t zip up at all

If you’ve ever felt frustrated after seamlessly slipping into a size 10 in one shop only to struggle button up in the same size in another you’re not alone.- as one TikTok user has shown.

Sophie Shakeshaft, 21, a model from Birmingham, took to TikTok to show how seven pairs of size 12 trousers from  Asos, Pretty Little Thing, Topshop and Boohoo fit her differently.

While some fit like a glove, others were very roomy and some didn’t zip up at all.

First, she tries on Asos Tall lilac jogging bottoms, which fit her perfectly.

But next she tries jeans and a pair of leather trousers from the same range, both in a size 12, one of which is far too large and the other too small to do up.

The fourth pair, from PrettyLittleThing, fit her perfectly, while her ASOS mom jeans are too large at the waist.

To end the clip, Sophie writes: ‘Notice my body didn’t change size once during this video!

Even clothes from the same range fit Sophie differently. She tried on a lilac pair from Asos Tall (left) which fit like a glove but her leather pair were too tight

‘Don’t put value on your clothes size babygirl.’

The clip racked up thousands of likes and comments, with many sharing their frustration at inconsistent sizing.

And with most people unable to try on clothes while shopping online in lockdown, many were very vocal about how comforting the video was.

While jeans from Topshop were too small, another pair of trousers from the same shop were too big

‘I bought the same pair of jeans in a different colour, one fit perfect and one didn’t do up,’ said one.

‘This made me feel so much better, thank you so much for making this,’ said one.

‘These brands need a group chat or something,’ added another.

‘I needed this. Going to start buying the size that fits best in that piece of clothing. I would normally feel paranoid if my usual size doesn’t fit me,’ said a third.

‘I HATE shopping for jeans. It’s so stressful and makes me so sad. I literally own one pair of jeans,’ another added.
