My stillbirth four years ago still haunts me and I have no one to talk to – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: FOUR years ago, I had a stillbirth. I thought I was coping but then something will happen and I feel rubbish again.

At the time, I was prescribed anti-depressants. But I came off them because of the side-effects.

I thought I was doing OK but now I’m sliding downhill emotionally. I cry and cry.

I am 29. My husband is 34 and it gets him down if I go on about losing our baby.

I don’t know who to talk to. My family think I should be over it.

DEIDRE SAYS: It is very sad to lose a baby you have grown to love through pregnancy. Others don’t always understand just how painful a loss a stillbirth is.

Tell your GP how you feel, as a different medication might help.

Also, find understanding support through Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity (sands.org.uk, 0808 164 3332).

They can help your husband too. He is probably grieving in his own way.
