Pamela Anderson's tumultuous love life from Tommy Lee to Dan Hayhurst

Five failed marriages, accusations of abuse and a bitter sex tape scandal that destroyed her relationship with the ‘only man she’s ever really loved’: FEMAIL lays bare every twist and turn of Pamela Anderson’s very tumultuous love life

  • Pamela, 55, is single and living in Canada at her grandparents’ old farmhouse
  • But the bombshell has had quite a tumultuous love life – marrying five times
  • Once each to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock and Dan Hayhurst, but twice to Rick Salomon
  • She also reportedly married movie mogul Jon Peters, but she later denied this
  • FEMAIL looks back at romances of the Baywatch and Home Improvement star

As one of the original multihyphenates, model-turned-actress-turned-animal activist Pamela Anderson is no stranger to making headlines – and one aspect of her life, her relationships, have arguably grabbed the most attention.

And, at first glance, it’s certainly easy to see why.

The 55-year-old has been married five times – once to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst, and twice to the same man, poker player Rick Salomon.

After four of those failed marriages, it seemed as though Pamela may have finally found ‘the one’, when she revealed to DailyMail.com – almost two years ago to the day – that she had tied the knot with Hayhurst in a secret ceremony held in the grounds of her Vancouver home.

But despite saying at the time that the marriage was ‘exactly where she needed to be’, the union lasted just 13 months, and the Baywatch star is now single and still living in Vancouver.

The actress became a global sex symbol during the 90s when she starred as lifeguard CJ Parker in the hit TV series Baywatch

Pamela’s love life has now been thrust into the limelight yet again as the result of her upcoming tell-all memoir – in which she candidly reveals that she has only ever been in love with one man: Tommy Lee.

Pamela once described herself as ‘a romantic’ to The New York Times in 2020, saying: ‘I think I’m an easy target. And I think people just live in fear.’

Having after so many years of romantic ups and downs, it appears that the actress and model has found a new sense of joy in being alone, telling People in a recent interview: ‘I live a more romantic life now that I’m alone than I did in relationships.’

Now, as Pamela prepares to lay bare her love life in a more candid way than ever before with the simultaneous release of her book, Love, Pamela, and her upcoming Netflix series, Pamela, A Love Story, on January 31, FEMAIL takes a look back at many relationships, from the ‘love of her life’ Tommy Lee to her latest marriage with builder-turned-bodyguard Hayhurst.

Jon Peters: Met her in the 1980s at the Playboy Mansion before ‘marrying’ her 30 years later… but the union was not all it seemed

Twenty-two years her senior, the pair first met in the 1980s at the Playboy Mansion, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

‘I walked in and saw this little angel sitting at the bar. It was Pammy. She was like 19. I knew she would be a big star,’ movie mogul Jon previously told the publication.

‘We ended up living together. Of course, Hefner loved her and saw her beauty. Pamela was a girl who with no makeup was gorgeous. She was very smart and very talented. I tried to talk her out of doing Playboy.

‘I said, “Don’t do Playboy. Focus on a serious career.” She said, “You’re nuts.” She wanted to do Playboy, and she went on to do 13 covers.’

Jon had a hand in kickstarting her career, paying for her acting classes as well as voice and dance lessons, according to The Hollywood Reporter, before she got her big breaks on Home Improvement, Baywatch and the film, Barb Wire.

He did propose to the Playboy cover star, but she refused, with the film producer telling her: ‘In 30 years, our age difference won’t mean so much.’

But reports did emerge in 2020 that they had wed in a ceremony in Malibu after they first dated 30 years ago.

The ceremony was attended by Pamela’s two sons and Jon’s three daughters, as well as his ex-wife, Christine Forsyth-Peters.

When the publication reported their marriage in 2020, Jon, then 74, said he was ‘wild – in a good way’ about Pamela, then 52.

‘There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but – for 35 years – I’ve only wanted Pamela,’ he said.

But they split just 12 days after their reported marriage.

‘I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union,’ Pamela said at the time of their breakup.

‘We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to reevaluate what we want from life and from one another. Life is a journey and love is a process.

‘With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process.’

Months later in a bizarre twist, Pamela denied she was ever married to Jon, saying: ‘It was just a bizarre lunch.’

In a follow-up tweet on her Twitter account, appearing to be from her publicity team: ‘Pamela Anderson was never legally married to Jon Peters (life long family friend) no hard feelings — no Marraige, no Divorce… just a bizarre theatrical lunch — Pamela has a good sense of humor about it [sic].’

Tommy Lee: Pamela declares their relationship ‘the only time I was ever truly in love’… despite their sex tape scandal

The Motley Crue drummer was the Playboy cover girl’s first husband and in a new excerpt from Love, Pamela, published by People, the 55-year-old reveals that their relationship ‘may have been the only time I was ever truly in love.’

Despite their well-documented and tumultuous ups and downs, from eloping to their beach wedding (she wore a bikini, he wore board shorts) in Cancun, Mexico, in 1995 despite only meeting him 96 hours earlier, according to Us Weekly, to her once telling a court that her children were ‘not safe’ with the musician.

Pamela was 27 and Lee was 32 when they married.

Their relationship suffered a hit when their sex tape was stolen and leaked – which Pamela suggests was the catalyst for why they ultimately split up.

She made the tape with drummer Lee, who is now 60, during a 1995 vacation to Lake Mead, a reservoir formed by the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River in the Southwestern United States.

‘It ruined lives, starting with our relationship – and it’s unforgivable that people, still to this day, think they can profit from such a terrible experience, let alone a crime,’ Pamela shared in her memoir.

The Barb Wire actress recently told CBS Sunday Morning: ‘Those tapes were not meant for anybody else to see.’

She was so hurt over the tape being leaked she hinted she would have taken her life if she had not been a mom.

Pamela said that it was so ‘hurtful’ that someone would take their private tape that she never had the courage to look at it.

Pamela, Tommy and their son, Brandon, are pictured here in 1997

She said the tape was just meant to be innocent fun between two happy people.

‘We were two crazy naked people in love,’ she told host Jim Axelrod.

‘I mean, we were naked all the time and filming each other and being silly.’

In her new book, the Stacked actress also wrote about an incident during their marriage when the drummer allegedly twisted her arm while they were with their sons.

The couple share two sons, Brandon and Dylan, They’re pictured with Pamela in 2001

‘Tommy ripped Brandon off me and threw me and Dylan into a wall,’ she claimed.

She called 911 and Lee was arrested. He reportedly served six months in jail for ‘felony spousal abuse.’

‘The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life,’ Pamela wrote of her 1998 split with the rocker.

‘I was crushed. I still couldn’t believe that the person I loved the most was capable of what had happened that night. We were both devastated, but I had to protect my babies.’

Pamela now confesses she’s ‘made peace’ with the hell-raiser and is looking back at their relationship more fondly.

‘We just wanted to have babies and be together forever,’ she said of her time with the rocker, with whom she shares two children – sons Brandon, 26, and Dylan, 25.

Over years the pair have given it ‘a try 800 times,’ Tommy told Rolling Stone in 2008 when the couple had rekindled their romance.

‘Pamela and the kids have moved in with me,’ he said at the time.

‘It’s awesome, man. It’s definitely working. You can tell on the kids’ faces – they’re happy when we’re together.’

Tommy has been married since 2019 to 36-year-old actress and Vine star Brittany Furlan.

Marcus Schenkenberg: A brief romance after he reportedly rescued a bird from a toilet

Pamela and the Swedish model had started dating in the summer of 2000, but their romance was short lived, splitting just months later in February 2001.

Marcus apparently wooed Pamela after he rescued a bird from a toilet in Monaco, ABC News reported in 2001.

The pair appeared in a number of advertisements for Iceberg clothing together and he also had a guest role on the blond bombshell’s TV show V.I.P.

According to her publicist at the time, the couple were still on friendly terms despite the breakup.

Kid Rock: A tumultuous marriage and a feud with Tommy Lee

Pamela and Kid Rock clapped eyes on each other for the first time in 2001 at a VH1 Divas Live tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Kid, real name Robert ‘Bob’ Ritchie, told Rolling Stone it was around Easter because the next day Pamela sent him ‘Easter eggs and a ton of s***,’ and he reciprocated by extending an invite for her to visit him in Detroit.

He described their meeting as ‘weird,’ telling Spin: ‘I was thinking, “Wow, here’s someone who kinda thinks like I do. Let’s go out and have a great… time and party like animals. But there’s a time and a place for that, and a time and a place for family.”‘

A year later following their backstage meet cute, the couple (pictured in 2003) got engaged in Las Vegas

Though at first glance they seemed very different, the pair did share common ground as both were parents – Pamela had two sons and Kid had a son with his ex-girlfriend, Kelley South.

‘We both love our kids very much and we want to be parents. I didn’t think there were any girls left out there – especially with what I do – who want to be moms anymore, who want to do the sewing and cooking, and have me go out and fix the car and throw the kids around the yard,’ he told the Orlando Sentinel in 2001.

‘But that’s what we have in common. And then when the kids aren’t there, we like to whoop it up.’

A year later following their backstage meet cute, the couple got engaged in Las Vegas. But the next summer, Pamela hinted she and Kid were no longer an item, describing herself as ‘free.’

The pair briefly parted ways, but rekindled their romance three years later in 2006 and wed soon after on a yacht in St Tropez

The musician later blamed Pamela’s resistance to relocate to Michigan and problems surrounding their prenup for their breakup.

But they rekindled their romance three years later in 2006 and wed soon after on a yacht in St Tropez.

‘It was like, “Let’s just fuckin’ get married and get it over with,”‘ Kid told Rolling Stone about their reunion.

The bride wore a white string bikini and a captain’s hat, and the groom was similarly casual going sans shirt and donned one of his signature fedoras in black.

On her blog, Pamela described it the next day as ‘the best most romantic wedding of all time.’

The marriage wasn’t recognized by French law, so the pair officially wed at a Beverly Hills courthouse a week later.

Just months later, Pamela revealed to the world on her blog that she and Kid were getting a divorce.

‘Divorce. Yes, it’s true. Unfortunately impossible,’ she wrote at the time, as per People.

Her representative confirmed the news to the publication on November 27, saying: ‘Pamela filed for divorce last week. It wasn’t a happy Thanksgiving.’

Their marriage allegedly ended after Kid blew up over Pamela’s appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen-led film Borat, a source told the New York Post, according to CBS News.

The source added Kid’s ‘male insecurity and major anger issues’ were also an issue.

In the movie, Sacha’s character falls in love with the blond bombshell and pursues her all the way to the US to propose.

‘Bob started screaming at Pam, saying she had humiliated herself and telling her, “You’re nothing but a wh***! You’re a sl**! How could you do that movie?” – in front of everyone. It was very embarrassing,’ the source said.

Sacha told The Daily Beast’s The Last Laugh in 2019 that when he asked Pamela what her husband thought about the movie, she broke the bad news.

‘She texted back, “He’s getting divorced.” I was like, “Why?” She goes, “The movie,”‘ he said.

Towards the end of their marriage, Pamela also suffered a miscarriage, according to People.

But the drama didn’t end when their marriage did.

Almost a year later, Kid got into a tussle with his ex-wife’s former husband, Tommy, at the MTV Music Awards.

Rolling Stone described the incident in Kid’s own words, saying he swung at Tommy’s left cheekbone with an ‘open-faced yet close-knuckled’ right hand.

Their feud reportedly started when Tommy took Pamela’s phone and started messaging Kid in December 2006, barely a month after the couple parted ways.

‘This motherf***er starts emailing me from her BlackBerry, saying, “You’re a f***ing b****, she’ll always be with me, nobody wants you,”‘ Kid told Rolling Stone.

‘It was not easy. It was a very hurtful time in my life, because I was in love with her. I wanted to roll on him right then, but I didn’t see him until the MTV Awards.’

No charges were laid following the incident.

Rick Salomon: Married poker player twice before their eventual messy divorce

This time Pamela, then 40, found love with her longtime friend and poker player Rick, then 38, who she wed at a Las Vegas Hotel in October 2007.

Rick had been married twice before, once to actress Elizabeth Daily from 1995 to 2000, and then 90210 and Charmed star Shannon Doherty from 2002 to 2003.

At the time, a source told People: ‘They are head over heels in love.’

But just two months later Pamela filed for divorce before the pair decided to give it another go for a short time.

Eventually they had their marriage annulled in 2008 and went their separate ways.

Years later in 2014, the pair married for a second time, with Pamela telling E! News: ‘We’re very happy. Our families are very happy and that’s all that matters.’

Their joy was short lived it seems as that same year Pamela filed for divorce. But again they reconciled before she finally filed for divorce in 2015. Rick then filed for an annulment.

The Baywatch star also took out a restraining order against Rick alleging he ‘engaged in repeated acts of harassment and abuse,’ according to E! News.

At the time, Pamela filed court documents that included emails and texts that were allegedly sent by Rick, claiming she had a number of abortions and called her a ‘serial baby killer,’ TMZ reported.

The couple finalized their divorce the next month, releasing a joint statement.

‘Public divorces can be harsh and cruel – we apologize to our families and friends for any hurt and embarrassment we have caused – we have come to an amicable agreement and are moving on,’ they said in a statement, according to People.

‘There are private and personal family sensitivities to consider and we retract any hurtful comments made in haste and distaste. We wish each other and our families well.’

But in 2019, it appeared Rick wanted Pamela back, according to The Sun.

Pamela’s sons with Tommy were also said to be keen for their mother to reignite the flame with their former stepfather.

Brandon, 22, and Dylan, 21, were apparently desperate for them to get back together, a source told The Sun: ‘Brandon and Dylan have been begging [Pamela] to get back with [Rick] and say that he is still in love with her.

‘They said to her, “Look mum there’s every sign he’s still in love with you, he still lives in the house you designed, you could move back in.” Even though things didn’t work out with him and Pamela – he never stepped away from being that father figure.’

Adil Rami: Moved to France to live with him before it ended with cheating allegations

Pamela, then 51, dated Adil on and off for two years from 2017, but they eventually parted ways in 2019, with the Home Improvement star accusing the French soccer player of cheating on her with his ex, Sidonie Biémont.

The Marseille defender, then 33, denied the allegations, explaining he had a platonic relationship with Sidonie, the mother of his twins, Zayn and Madi, born in 2016.

Before this, the iconic pin-up girl, who moved to France to live with her beau during the early stages of their romance, admitted she didn’t expect their love to last.

In a 2018 interview with The Sun, the blond bombshell said: ‘Let’s be in love for as long as we are in love and if there is ever one day, you look at me and go “ugh,” well, I can always go and live in another country.’

Gushing over their relationship, she said of Adil, who played for the French national team: ‘He is fantastic. I love him, of course. You have to be very brave and enjoy things.

Pamela, then 51, dated Adil on and off for two years from 2017, but they eventually parted ways in 2019

‘I care about him a lot and we get along. Who knows how long this world is going to last with the way it is going. You might as well enjoy your life.’

In July 2018, the couple sparked engagement rumors.

Speculation first arose when she cheered on France in their victorious World Cup semi-final showdown against Belgium while wearing a sparkling diamond Cartier Panther ring, which she is reported to have received from the sportsman.

Adil denied the rumors at the time, saying the reports of an engagement were ‘not true’ while singing his ‘wonderful’ girlfriend’s praises.

‘She’s wonderful,’ he had said. ‘We’re staying in Beverly Hills for the next few weeks, I have to go to on a quick trip to Las Vegas tomorrow so I’m doing a little shopping.’

‘I see a lot of things she would like.’

Dan Hayhurst: A pandemic romance turned into a 13-month union

Pamela married her bodyguard after falling in love during the coronavirus lockdown in 2021. The union was first reported by DailyMail.com.

She tied the knot for the fourth time with Dan, a builder from her small hometown, in an intimate ceremony on the grounds of her home on Vancouver Island, Canada on Christmas Eve.

In a world exclusive interview Anderson told DailyMail.com: ‘I’m exactly where I need to be – in the arms of a man who truly loves me.’

The star has also shared her stunning wedding photos and video, sharing an exclusive intimate look at her special day.

Anderson met Hayhurst, who lived locally on Vancouver Island, at the beginning of lockdown in 2020 and the pair had been together 24/7 after they connected.

‘This one year together has felt like seven – like dog years’, Anderson joked following her marriage.

Anderson added that they fell head over heels with each other and it was a ‘natural fit’.

Of their special day, the model and actress gushed: ‘I am in love. We were married Christmas Eve with both our families’ blessing, everyone we know is happy for us.

‘I was married on the property I bought from my grandparents 25 years ago, this is where my parents were married and they are still together. I feel like I’ve come full circle.’

The couple shocked viewers of British TV show Loose Women when the blond bombshell appeared on-air in bed with her new husband.

Talking from their home, she said: ‘We haven’t left here since Christmas Eve [about being in bed together]’.

But their marriage was also short lived, the couple called it quits after just 13 months.

She filed for divorce in her native Canada where she had relocated, Rolling Stone reported, citing a source close to the couple.

An insider told the magazine ‘Pamela loves as authentically as she lives,’ and that the ‘pandemic whirlwind’ romance had run its course.

‘Pamela started to learn everything about Dan, for better and for worse. She fell out of love and Dan was not the guy she previously thought he was,’ another source told Entertainment Tonight.
