Rob Lowe roasted for wearing NFL hat to Packers vs 49ers game

Rob Lowe is a man of mystery.

The “911: Lone Star” actor, 55, attended the Green Bay Packers versus San Francisco 49ers game in California on Sunday without revealing which team he was rooting for.

Lowe sat in the stands wearing a black shirt, black jacket and generic NFL logo hat — and was promptly chided on social media for his choice.

“Some people cheer for a team. Rob Lowe cheers for the Shield,” Barstool Sports tweeted.

Others quickly piled on. “Rob Lowe may be the first person in history to wear an NFL hat to an NFL game,” one person said. “Hi I’m Rob Lowe and when I watch football I root for the [checks hat] NFL,” another tweeted. A third found the choice completely believable: “Rob Lowe wearing a hat that just has the NFL logo on it feels correct, I absolutely believe that he likes all 32 teams equally and just wants what’s best for the league.”

For his part, the Virginia native poked fun at the game, which at halftime saw the 49ers winning 27-0. “I didn’t expect my hat to be the most interesting part of this game,” he replied on Twitter.

Perhaps Lowe will make his allegiance more clear if he attends the Super Bowl next month.
