And then there were two. The Bachelor Season 27 is almost over, but it still feels like too long to wait for who will end up with Zach. After last night’s episode, it seems Zach’s favorites—Kaity and Gabi—were finally confirmed. However, only one will actually end up with a ring.
Despite his otherwise boring season, Zach did somewhat deliver last night in the drama department. Sure, it might not have been what he wanted, but it at least gave Bachelor fans a little more excitement. While having sex during the fantasy suite episode isn’t exactly what I’d call drama for Bachelor Nation, it counts for something with Zach.
Zach Shallcross was plucked right out of Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia‘s season 19 of The Bachelorette. His season started with 30 women, a Griddy dance, and the most women sent home in the first rose ceremony in 15 years (per Reality Steve).
This season also made Bachelor Nation history with the very first virtual rose ceremony after Zach contracted COVID. And although his COVID crisis canceled the group date and his one-on-one with Charity, Gabi’s shopping date provided a terrific hint at what’s to come. Charity’s hometown send off was disappointing, but it might not be the last of her in the Bachelor universe (read on). Plus, an insider also gave a scoop on more details those “sick” scenes from London.
Below, Women’s Health has collected all the latest spoilers from Reality Steve and other accounts—including details about Zach, eliminations, and the woman who makes it all the way to the end.
*Spoiler*: There are conflicting opinions on who wins the season, with Steve saying it’s one person, and another Bachelor account saying it’s someone else. Only time will tell who made the correct prediction. Place your bets.
Who is Zach Shallcross?
In case you need a recap, Bachelor Zach is a technology executive based in Austin, Texas, who first appeared on The Bachelorette season 19. As the competition continued, he ultimately decided to pursue Rachel Recchia over Gabby Windey, and things ended on a rather…awkward note.
TLDR: Zach made it to the Fantasy Suites, but after spending a night with Rachel, he said their vibe totally changed, and self-eliminated.
Originally from California, the 26-year-old former football player has been ready to tie the knot for quite some time now. He has already tried to win over Bachelor Nation fans by convincing them he’s just your average bro. He was in a band once. He DJ’ed in college under the name “VerZache.” Casual.
Zach also boasted about his close knit family (especially his ‘ship with his Mom), and is still on track to find his wife. He clearly didn’t come to play around—he’s sending girls home left and right, and not even waiting for rose ceremonies to do it!
Zach broke his “no sex” vow.
The most recent episode of the Bachelor was probably the most dramatic yet. At the beginning of the episode, Zach Shallcross announced his plan to “not be intimate” with the remaining three contestants—a plan that was (unsurprisingly) not followed through.
Although Zach goes on his date with Ariel and maintains his promise to himself (and, I suppose, to the world?) not to have sex, he caves during his second overnight date with Gabi.
At first, Gabi gives Zach a chance to deny the pair were ever “intimate” by simply saying they had a “great cuddle sesh.” However, honest and noble Zach admits that it was a bit more than that.
“It was important, and it was what we both wanted and needed for the relationship. And I feel terrible because I’ve just gone against my word,” Zach said to host Jesse Palmer, after admitting to having sex with Gabi.
And, in addition to being fully honest with the cameras and Jesse, Zach also reveals his dirty little secret to Kaity on their overnight date. This leads to a bit of a fight (I mean, would you want to hear about your man having sex with someone else on a date?) but ultimately it seems like Zach and Kaity end up okay.
“This is something I feel like we can get through,” Kaity says during the episode. No word on whether they had sex, but they may have considering Zach already broke his promise to himself.
Ultimately, Ariel, the only one Zach definitely upheld his vow of chastity with, is sent home at the rose ceremony. Ouch.
What happens this season?
Last night’s episode took place Krabi, Thailand, for overnights. But there’s still no word on where the finale takes place. Based on the midseason trailer, it looks somewhere tropical. It also seems like the tables may turn on Zach, as both Kaity and Gabi seems a bit unsure about him in the final episode trailer, per ET Online.
