Woman rumbles son's attempt to forge signature after he writes just 'mum'

Getting kids out the door in the morning can be a bit of a task.

There’s the lunchboxes, PE kits and coats to remember – so it can be easy for something to slip your mind.

One mum felt bad when she realised she’d forgotten to sign her son’s homework diary.

But boy took matters into his own hands and tried to forge her signature to avoid getting into trouble.

The mum couldn’t help but laugh though when she realised he had gone with the name he knows her by and simply wrote ‘mum’.

The woman posted in the Family Lowdown Tips and Ideas Facebook group and said: ‘When your son says Mum I had to forge your signature because you didn’t sign my homework diary!

‘I’m guessing they may suspect it wasn’t actually me who signed it.’

Luckily, the teacher didn’t seem to mind though and signed it off anyway.

Other parents laughed and shared their own experiences with homework diaries and school notes.

One said: ‘My daughter use to forge her homework diary…but not with my signature as it was to difficult apparently so she used her Grandma’s instead…I’m still not sure why the school didn’t say anything given they knew her grandma lived in Portugal.’

Another added: ‘My daughter got asked if she was signing her own reading log when it was actually my writing.’

‘I signed my homework book when I was younger, my mum found it and wrote underneath “I did not sign this” so ended up with detention,’ someone else said.
