The BRIT Awards 2021 will be the first major indoor music event to have a live audience since lockdown – and they won't have to wear face masks.
Daily Star revealed earlier this month that the BRIT Awards were set to have a live audience after collaborating with the government on their vaccine passport programme.
The BRIT Awards confirmed today that they would welcome 4,000 people after working alongside to government as part of the Event Research Plan.
Attendees will have to have proof of a negative Covid test to enter the venue and will need to provide contact details for the NHS Test and Trace system.
They will not have to wear face coverings in the arena or be socially distanced but will be asked to take a test after the event to gather evidence on the safety of indoor settings with reduced social distancing and no face masks.
The research gathered will be used to inform government policy to bring about the phased return of bigger audiences to events across England.

In recognition of their efforts in the pandemic, 2,500 tickets will be gifted to frontline workers from the Greater London Area by ballot.
The ballot for free tickets to front-line workers will open on www.brits.co.uk on Thursday, April 22 from 12pm.
Multiple BRIT nominated artist Dua Lipa, who will perform at the ceremony, said: “This has been a long tough year for everyone and I'm delighted the night will honour the key worker heroes who have cared for us so well during that time and continue to do so. They are quite simply an inspiration.

The BRIT Awards will be held on May 11 at the O2 Arena, and will be broadcast live on ITV and ITV Hub.
