Elvis Presley ‘alive’: King ‘spotted’ in Michigan a decade after his death

Elvis Presley: Graceland expert reveals Nashville hotspots

The Rock N Roll legend Elvis Presley died of a cardiac arrest on August 16, 1977. The star died whilst in his home at Graceland, Memphis, Tennessee. In his house alongside him was his fiancée, Ginger Alden, and his young daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who was nine-years-old at the time.

Since the star’s death, however, many fans have begun theorising that Elvis didn’t actually die in 1977.

Supposed sightings of the singer prompted theories that Elvis actually faked his own death, in an attempt to get away from the limelight.

Other, more bombastic theories suggests he was in a witness protection programme whilst on the run from some sort of mobster organisation.

Further rumours stemmed from Kalamazoo, Michigan, in which Elvis was, again, “spotted” out in public.

In 1988 – over a decade after Elvis’ reported death – a woman named Louise Welling claimed she spotted Elvis standing in line at a local Felpausch supermarket.

Even more suspicious is that the man who looked like Elvis also apparent wore a white jumpsuit.

Fans will recall that a white jumpsuit is one of Elvis’ signature looks from throughout his career.

Welling’s daughter later saw the same man elsewhere in the city – and this is where things get even more convincing.

Welling’s daughter claimed she spotted him “eating Whoppers” at Burger King.

According to friends and loved-ones of Elvis, Burger King was “by far” the Blue Christmas singer’s favourite fast food restaurant.

Despite these key details adding up to create a good basis for the theory, there are some holes in the story.

Of course, the sighting did arrive over 10 years after the King’s death, which is perhaps the biggest flaw to the story.

Furthermore, Michigan is an 11-hour drive from Graceland, meaning the star would have had to cross America without being seen.

This year will mark 44-years since the star died at his home in Graceland.

Despite this, many secrets about the star are still coming out, decades after his death.

Most recently, his fiancée, Ginger, spoke out about how she “never saw” him eat the famous Elvis Sandwich.

The Elvis Sandwich is present in a number of restaurant menus, as it was apparently the King’s favourite snack.

The sandwich consists of toasted bread, slathered in peanut butter, with banana and bacon inside it.

However, Ginger explained: “She said: “There are exaggerations like Elvis wasn’t happy his last year, was depressed.

“Sitting up there eating fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches (which I never once saw him eat one of those the nine months I was with him).”
