THE Pembrokeshire Murders fans' have had their 'minds blown' after the drama used a real Bullseye clip that exposed killer John Cooper – with a creepy twist.
The three-part series follows the reopening of a cold case in 2006 which looked at two unsolved double murders from the 1980s.
Luke Evans stars as the policeman in charge of the case – Steve Wilkins – while Keith Allen plays the serial killer, John Cooper.
In last night's episode, Steve stumbled across an old picture of Cooper on a pub's darts team from around the time of the second double murder.
The pub landlord then revealed John had also been on popular darts game show Bullseye in 1989, leading Steve to request the archive footage from theTV network.
It revealed John on the show, just a month before he carried out his second double murder, and gave police a good visual to match the e-fit that had previously been created of the murderer.
Viewers were stunned to discover the Bullseye clip was what helped the police finally link Cooper to the murders and lead to his conviction.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Bullseye of all shows, extraordinary."
Another tweeted: "Can’t believe they caught a serial killer from an episode of Bullseye it’s completely blown my mind."
A third was equally surprised, writing: "F*** off… he never got caught by Jim Bowen #bullseye #pembrokeshiremurders."
Other viewers were impressed how show bosses had managed to de-age Keith Allen and then super impose his face over John Cooper's in the original footage using CGI.
One wrote: "That was good using the actual footage of bullseye but using cgi to put Keith's face on it."
The Pembrokeshire Murders concludes tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
