Inside Priscilla Presley and Elvis’ sex life from ‘King of foreplay’ to romp ban

Priscilla and Elvis Presley had a very colourful relationship, being together from 1960 until 1972, and sharing a child, Lisa Marie.

They were together seven years before they fully consummated their relationship, but engaged in what Priscilla called “passionate” sessions in the bedroom from when Priscilla was just 14.

Over the years they engaged in several sex games, enjoying role plays and even threesomes.

However after their marriage and Priscilla’s pregnancy, the couple hit a rough patch and Elvis reportedly refused to have sex with Priscilla anymore.

The pair eventually separated on February 23 1972 and filed for divorce July 26.

On Priscilla’s 76th birthday, we look back on her and Elvis’s sex life from doctor role plays to sexy polaroids.

No sex until marriage

The couple had been sharing a bed since Priscilla was 14 from 1959 into 1960, yet Priscilla claims that she remained a virgin until they married when she was 21.

She described in the early days: "Elvis would take me into his bedroom and then we would kiss long, deep, passionate kisses and his caresses would leave me weak with desire."

However despite her being desperate for Elvis to make love to her and resorting to wearing black lingerie and cuddling, he refused.

In her book Elvis and Me Priscilla said: "I’m a woman who needs to make love to feel desired by a man. Please don’t make me beg.”

He said, "I'm not saying we can't do other things. It's just the actual encounter. I want to save it.”

As for the reasoning, Priscilla explained in an interview with Barbara Walters: “There was an agreement he made with himself that the woman he decided to take for his wife he was going to keep her that way until he married her…

”I can only go back to his concept of what he wanted in a woman. Somewhere in his past, he said he wanted a virgin.”

‘King of foreplay’

Priscilla revealed that Elvis was so obsessed with keeping her a virgin, that they engaged in long round of foreplay instead.

In her autobiography, Priscilla said: “He worked his art of foreplay without penetration. In lovemaking, as in entertaining, Elvis’ outstanding talent was oral.”

Author Joel Williamson wrote in his book Elvis Presley: A Southern Life that: “He taught her how to make love in various ways short of full intercourse…”

Lamar Fike, who was part of Elvis’ entourage from 1957 said; "‘His sexual appetite was very, very strong.

"The touching and the feeling and the patting and everything else meant more to Elvis than the actual act. I guess Elvis was the King of Foreplay.”

Sex and drugs

Elvis’ addiction to drugs is infamous and Priscilla revealed that it did not stop in the bedroom.

“Ordinary thrills sometimes were not enough [for Elvis],” she wrote, “especially when he was under the influence of powerful drugs.”

Elvis also allegedly gave Priscilla amphetamines to keep her awake during their late-night sex sessions, and once accidentally knocked her unconscious after giving her pills.

She said: "Well, he forgot, I think, the fact that I had never taken drugs and he had given me two because he was used to taking two, you know. It didn’t bother him.

"He gave them to me and I was knocked out for about two days."

Role play

The couple regularly engaged in sex games and role plays with Priscilla describing her sex life with Elvis as “passionate” and full of adventure.

The played nurse and patient games – handling and probing each other’s bodies.

It has also been reported that Elvis would bring another girl into the bedroom for threesomes.

Williamson wrote: “In this play, Elvis had Priscilla and the girl pretend to make love while he watched, filmed, and sometimes joined in.”

According to Williamson, he also installed a two-way mirror in his Palm Springs home with Priscilla so that he could secretly spy on couples having sex during lavish parties he would throw there.

Explicit pictures

Priscilla and Elvis also enjoyed taking photos of themselves in a variety of poses, costumes and scenes while in the bedroom.

The pictures were taken by Polaroid camera and kept in a silver suitcase which was given to Priscilla when Elvis died.

However Priscilla later admitted: "I got most of those back and did destroy them. But there are a few out there.”

No sex after childbirth

Priscilla fell pregnant right after she married Elvis, and worried that his attraction to her would dwindle.

“[Elvis] had mentioned to me before we were married that he had never been able to make love to a woman who had a child,” she wrote in Elvis and Me.

Sure enough after becoming pregnant with their daughter Lisa Marie, Elvis refused to have sex with Priscilla, with many speculating it was due to the fact that the pregnancy was a physical representation that she was no longer a virgin.

“I [was] beginning to doubt my own sexuality as a woman,” Priscilla wrote of the difficult period, “My physical and emotional needs were unfulfilled.”

Elvis and Priscilla’s relationship soon soured and Priscilla began an affair with her karate instructor Mike Stone.

She wrote in her book: “My relationship with Mike had now developed into an affair. I still loved Elvis greatly, but over the next few months I knew I would have to make a crucial decision regarding my destiny.”

She also wrote that when she told Elvis she was leaving him: “He grabbed me and forcefully made love to me.

“It was uncomfortable and unlike any other time he’d ever made love to me before.’

He allegedly told her: “This is how a real man makes love to his woman.”

“Thus, the love affair between Elvis and Priscilla ended, ignominiously, with spousal rape,” she wrote.
