Scott Mills is one of the biggest radio presenters the UK has ever known, having broadcast on Radio 1 from 1998 all the way to 2022.
Born in Hampshire, the talented talker quickly gravitated towards the radio, putting every ounce of his being into making it in the industry.
Knowing the challenge ahead of him wouldn't be easy, he frequently bombarded Power FM with demo tapes until they had no choice but to give in and give him his opportunity.

And the rest, as they say, is history. Mills exploded into the stratosphere, hosting a show on Radio 1 for 24 years before moving over to Radio 2.
But away from his role on the decks, the DJ has a lot of things going on. So, without further ado, let's have a look inside his life.
Scott Mills' flashy home
In 2021, the broadcasting veteran said farewell to his North London semi-detached townhouse, in favour of moving in with his boyfriend, Sam Vaughan.
The pair purchased a detached home in the suburbs, with a massive garden, a magnificent kitchen and a dressing room designed with expert help.
And the duo don't live alone, as their furry friend, Teddy, the poodle, is the true ruler of the roost.
It seems like they're enjoying the new property, with Sam going the extra mile at Christmas time, surprising his partner by entering their home into a Christmas trail competition for locals.
Scott Mills has a bridge named after him
While the 50-year-old has achieved a lot in his career, this is probably as good as it gets. In a tribute to his legacy, his pal and co-presenter on Five Live, Chris Stark, campaigned to have a bridge on the M3 named after him.
After being successful in his mission, the bridge in question stands, which stands tall over the motorway at the Fleet Services, was officially named 'The Scott Mills Bridge'.
In 2016, a gleeful Stark was joined by the then-CEO of Welcome Break, Rod McKie, for the unveiling of a plaque, which has now been around for seven years and even survived the fire that tore through the services in the winter of its first year under its new identity.
Scott Mills had his own musical
Granted, it may not have had the profile of 'Greece Lightning' or 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dream Coat', but in 2009 'Scott Mills The Musical' went down an absolute storm.
The show ran for three nights between 11 and 13 August at the Pleasance One Theatre in Edinburgh, with crowds absolutely loving the action.
So when it's all said and done, Mills will go down as a broadcasting icon, have a bridge named after him and have had his own Broadway show — that's not bad, is it?
