Love Island star Anton Danyluk has revealed how he let fame go to his head – until his mum gave him a wake-up call.

The Scottish gym owner notched up a staggering 85 personal appearances in 90 days after leaving the 2019 villa and he admits he got "caught up" in the showbiz lifestyle.

Anton, 26, says: "When I came out of Love Island, I got caught up in the fame.

"I think I had the most PAs out of all the guys – 85 in 90 days. It was pretty intense, people were screaming for me.

"I couldn’t go anywhere without security, it was crazy. I definitely got caught up in the lifestyle, in that bubble. I was drinking more than I ever would.

"You’re going from a nobody to effectively one of the most famous people in the country because people have been watching you all summer."

It was his mum Sherie – who famously admitted to shaving her son’s bum for him – that brought him down to earth.

Anton says: "I came home when I had a day off in between my PAs. After I had dinner with my mum, I just got up and walked away from the table.

"It’s not something I would ever do – I was taught you clear your plates, you tidy up – and my mum said, 'What are you doing? Get your plate in the dishwasher, you’re not a f***ing celebrity in this house'.

“And I just thought, 'Why have I done that?’ She’s always good at pulling me back."

Anton was "pied" by the female Islanders until he got with make-up artist Belle Hassan.

They came fifth but their romance failed to last the distance.

And his experience of doing Love Island taught Anton that fame and money doesn’t automatically bring happiness.

He says: "I thought having a million followers, having the fame and all that would make you happy but it doesn’t.

"I’m realising just having a good solid group of friends around you, people that love you, enough money to do the things you want to do – I’m happy."

He’s now put what he’s learned into a new book called 50 Steps To The Best Version Of Yourself, which gives advice on everything from workouts to mental health.

"Love Island gave me the platform so it made sense to write a book and help people improve their life," he adds.

Anton, who now lives in Dubai where he’s about to launch a new fitness project, recently revealed he’s no longer in touch with his castmates, saying: "People come off the show, get their blue tick, get their million followers and go so far up their a**** it’s unbelievable".

But he claims his comments were taken out of context.

"II just made a comment that when people come out they do change," he says.

"But maybe it’s harsh to say they change because maybe you just didn’t know them properly in the first place.

"I love everyone I was in the villa with, I appreciate the experience I had with them but it doesn’t go beyond that now."

In the book, Anton reveals he was glued to social media for nine hours a day after leaving the villa. But he has a much healthier relationship with it now.

He says: "It was very addictive because you’re going up 100,000 followers a day, there’s all these comments and messages and I was really grateful for the support. Now I’m barely on it, I don’t like it, to be honest. People are showing lives they’re not living."

Living in Dubai means Anton no longer has mum on hand to shave his bum. But as he’s currently on a trip back home, he plans to make use of Sherie’s skills ahead of a top secret new TV show he’s filming in September.

He says: "It’s not been shaved – I’m sure for this next TV show I’ll be scheduling that with my mum."

The single lad also insists there’s no time for romance in his life.

"I’m totally single,” says Anton. "I just want to give 100% to my businesses and myself in the next five years and then when someone comes into my life I can give 100% to them."
