Meghan Markle and Harry may have left kids in LA to protect them says expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are two of the most recognisable people around the globe, even more so since they stepped down as senior working royals.

Due to Harry's heritage, having been born into the British Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex has always been surrounded by armed protection during outings.

However, since renouncing his royal roles, he and his wife Meghan, 40, claimed they had been stripped of their royal protection, but Buckingham Palace refused to comment when we approached them.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Matt Fiddes, the former personal bodyguard to singer Michael Jackson has explained why the couple still requires security.

During Harry and Meghan's trip to New York, the Duke and Duchess were surrounded by armed security personnel, something that Matt believes was essential.

He told us: "The level of security around Meghan and Harry in New York is far greater than you would see with a megastar such as the late Michael Jackson or anyone else I have protected at the highest showbiz level.

"What they had in New York is similar to government presidential protection like the Secret Service."

Matt went on to say: "Going to New York on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 is very dangerous for such a high profile couple, especially with the current troubles in Afghanistan on where Prince Harry has served before."

The personal safety expert and martial arts entrepreneur went on to say: "The visible display of guns on show and how the protection have arranged themselves around Meghan and Harry is on another level in comparison to normal bodyguards or protection teams even at high profile levels.

"You can also see behind the securities masks – they are all wearing ears pieces to communicate with each other – this may be a clear hint that President Biden has given in to keep Meghan and Harry secure due to the risks."

It is believed that Meghan and Harry left their two children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet at home in California with loved ones, a move which Matt believes had been well thought out.

"I have seen this many times in my career and even when working with Michael Jackson, we had to leave the children behind many times against his wishes due to threats upon them for financial gain," he said.

During an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry revealed that he was using money left to him by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales to pay for security.

Matt explained: "When they left the Royals they also left the Royal protection behind, like Princess Diana, they have found themselves the most hunted public and media targets in the world.

"There will always be more media interest in them than any current Royal as they have gone against the establishment and continue to do so."

He added that ensuring the Sussex family's security will be Harry's biggest expense, as well as his biggest concern.
