Rylan Clark shares cryptic pic just hours after bombshell Phillip Schofield news

This Morning presenter Rylan Clark has shared a cryptic post just hours after Phillip Schofield stepped down from ITV.

Phillip admitted to having an affair with a much younger colleague while he was married and announced he would no longer be working with ITV.

Just hours after Phillip made the statement, Rylan took to his Instagram Stories and posted a selfie of himself smiling and making a peace sign.

Wearing an unbuttoned white shirt, Rylan sat in the back of a taxi before later sharing a picture of himself in bed as he simply said: "Night x."

Rylan has also recently announced he will be taking a break from his Radio 2 show, which he revealed on the same day Phillip quit This Morning.

He told fans: "I am off to do some other bits and bobs so I'm not going to be here for a fair few weeks."

The former Big Brother and X Factor star is one of the favourites to replace Phillip to work alongside Holly Willoughby.

Phillip said his statement: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family.

"I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife."

A spokesperson for ITV said: "We are deeply disappointed by the admissions of deceit made tonight by Phillip Schofield," the spokesperson said.

"The relationships we have with those we work with are based on trust.

"Phillip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
