A Place in the Sun fans spot something VERY wrong with £370k Barbados home as couple break down in tears | The Sun

A PLACE in the Sun fans were left disappointed when host, Craig Rowe showed his guests a £360k property with a shared pool in the sunny Carribean island of Barbados.

With retirement approaching, Bolton-based couple Lesley and Ken downsized their house to buy a holiday home on the Caribbean island of Barbados, and hoped host, Craig Rowe could show them what their £250k could buy.

With a budget of £250,000 to spend, the couple said they were hoping to find a two-bedroom property with plenty of outside space.

They went on to add that they didn't want a holiday home that needed any renovation work and they were willing to stretch their budget up to £350,000 if they came across the perfect property.

Craig kicked things off by showing the couple a new complex that had three townhouses and it was priced below the couple’s budget at £291,000.

The first-floor apartment, which was situated in a complex, included gardens and two swimming pools.

Lesley and Ken had mixed feelings about this apartment.

Although they loved the beautiful views, they were slightly put off by the location.

They quickly ruled it out completely and moved on to the next one on Craig’s list.

Next up, was a home priced above their budget at £373,000.

The property comes with three bedrooms and an open-plan dining room and kitchen.

"It's a lovely room," Lesley said as they reviewed the master bedroom, which came with a walk-in wardrobe.

Despite having positive thoughts, the couple quickly ruled this one out too, as they felt it was too small and dark.

The third property was a townhouse split across three levels and with a wrap-around balcony.

The house was priced at £373,000, well over the couple's budget, but also boasted stunning sea views from the bedroom balcony.

“Now I’m going to be showing you the show home because the property that’s for sale isn’t quite yet finished,” Craig explained.

"But we are stopping by a little, sort of, plunge pool area.

"What do you think of the kerb appeal when you look at it from here?"

Lesley and Ken were not too fussed by the size of the pool and said:

"Looks lovely, great. Could do with that now!”

But viewers couldn't get past the idea of a communal pool outside a £360k property, and took to social media to share their thoughts.

One complained: "Communal plunge pool! Looks like a foot bath for verrucas."

Another added: "That plunge pool, aka the puddle, looks like someone's taken a dump in it already,"

A third remarked: “It would be a 'tight squeeze' to get into the plunge pool with other residents.

"That place is a no for the money – I can't get past that crappy plunge pool and the living room is tiny," one viewer exclaimed.

After viewing this property, Lesley and Ken ruled it out as it was “too dark inside” and didn’t have “enough outside space” for the family and their dog.

And after inspecting the property further, Lesley aired her concerns about the spiral staircase.

She told Craig the dog wouldn't be able to get up the stairs on his own unless they carried him up.

She also said she was worried about her grandchildren's safety when they came over to visit.

Lastly, priced at £365,000, the fourth property they visited was a house that came with a palm tree-filled garden.

On first impressions, Lesley and Ken were blown away by the holiday home.

As they explored the property, Lesley broke down in tears as she was overwhelmed by how stunning this property was.

"Look at this, it's just stunning, isn't it?" Lesley said to her husband.

"Look at the size of that kitchen."

"I like everything about it," Lesley sobbed before adding. "It's just gorgeous."

It was clear which property the Bolton-based couple had chosen.

After shutting down the fifth property, Lesley and Ken decided to put in an offer of £330,000 on the fourth property.

But, Craig explained the couple had to wait 24 hours as the current owner needed time to think about their offer.

Brand new episodes are currently airing every day at 3pm on Channel 4.
