Dan Walker and Louise Minchin were on-hand to provide BBC Breakfast viewers with the biggest news stories of the morning as well as having Matt Taylor giving regular updates of the morning’s glorious weather forecast. However, at one moment, the weatherman realised a mistake had been made while he showed off a snap from a weather watcher this morning – which was incorrectly labelled as being taken in Shropshire.

At one point, the hosting duo commented on the day’s weather situation, taking viewers to another part of the country prior to Matt’s forecast.

Louise said: “Before we get the weather from Matt, let’s just have a little look at a beautiful view, this is Leith House Plum Orchard in Burnham Ovary in north Norfolk.

“We’re going to be there in about an hour’s time for a chat about this year’s bumper harvest,” she told viewers.

Her co-star Dan joked: “I can’t hear north Norfolk without think of Mr [Alan] Partridge… ‘North Norfolk Digital, good morning everybody!’”

The host handed over to Matt, commenting: “Right, let’s find out what’s going on with the weather, Matt, the picture behind you is equally beautiful.”

“It is indeed… actually this is from Shropshire, I’ve got the wrong name up here, apologies for that weather watcher who took this wonderful shot in Hertfordshire.”

The stunning shot in the background was labelled as being taken in Shrawardine, Shropshire, rather than Hertfordshire where the photo had been taken.

He soon continued on with the forecast, explaining: “We could see some high temperatures today!”
