Billie Shepherd was left blindsided when her husband Greg surprised her with a paragliding trip during a recent family holiday to Portugal, despite her admitting that she has a huge fear of heights.
In OK!’s exclusive, first look at tonight’s episode of their ITVBe reality show The Family Diaries, Billie, 31, and Greg, 35, are enjoying a ‘relaxing’ boat trip – only for Greg to reveal he has booked his wife Billie an adrenaline-filled experience to help push her out of her comfort zone.
Greg, who shares children Nelly, seven, and Arthur, four, with Billie, suddenly announces: “Mummy keeps saying she needs to be more adventurous. I suppose mummy thinks we’re getting off the boat now?”
The dad-of-two continues: “But mummy’s not getting off the boat! Mummy’s going on another boat and is going paragliding.”
However, Billie, 31, is less than impressed with Greg’s grand gesture as she explains that he knows she’s scared of heights.
After Greg announces the surprise gift, a shocked Billie, who is also joined by mum Sue and the kids, says: “No I’m not!”
Greg attempts to encourage her, adding: “You keep saying since Dancing on Ice that you want to be more adventurous and now you’re doing it.”
But Billie still isn’t keen on the idea, telling her husband: “Greg, I’m not paragliding. I don’t like heights and being on the skates hasn’t cured my fear of heights.”
The former The Only Way Is Essex star continues while shaking her head in disbelief: “I don’t want to do it, I’m not doing it.”
Yet in a last-ditch attempt to get Billie to do something out of her comfort zone, Greg says that she should do it with their daughter Nelly – and it seems his persuasion technique eventually does the trick.
Viewers will then see that the camera cuts to an interview with Billie filmed separately where she says: “Oh, now I’ve got to do it!”
Elsewhere in the episode, viewers will see what else happened when the family of four jetted off to soak up the sun in Portugal.
But it’s not all smooth sailing as their youngest Arthur’s behaviour proves to be a bit of a challenge even when they’re on holiday.
Meanwhile, Greg tells his best friend Jonny that he has an intriguing two-year plan and Billie attempts to pull a prank on her husband.
