Emmerdale fans are questioning if the father of Chloe Harris’ unborn baby is really Mackenzie Boyd.
The two soap characters had a one night stand last summer, with Chloe later revealing that she was pregnant.
While she’d relocated to Scotland, Chloe has since returned to the village with Sarah Sugden ahead of her baby’s birth as she wants to raise her child there – much to Mack’s dismay as his fiancee Charity Dingle is still unaware of their affair.
The only people who know about Mack being the dad is his pal Nate Robinson and Chloe’s friend, Sarah.
As Chloe’s due date draws nearer, Mack confided in Nate on Tuesday night’s episode, 18 April, and admitted that he doesn’t want to be a dad as he’s “not daddy material”.
Having a heart to heart, Mack said to his friend: "I know it's difficult not seeing Frankie all the time, it must hurt."
"I just feel like I have missed out on so much, you know?" Nate replied. "These texts from Trace, just a reminder of how much you don't get back."
Nate split with his ex Tracy Metcalfe in 2021, with Tracy then relocating to Nottingham with their daughter.
"Still, I have only got myself to blame," Nate continued before adding: "Sorry, this is the last thing you want to hear."
Going on the label Nate as a “good dad”, Mack went on: “You know the right thing, you do the right thing and that is precisely why I am not daddy material… and I have accepted that.”
But Mack’s prayers might be answered soon as Emmerdale fans are convinced that he’s not the dad of Chloe’s baby.
One person wrote on social media: “No one knows it's meant to be Mackenzie's so why would they discuss it? I think he slept with her and that she was already pregnant but he still cheated so he's f****d anyway once Charity finds out.”
Another added: "I think the baby will be Nate’s. He has been very condescending to Mack and now it will be time to put his money where his mouth is. Chloe had so many one night stands. We will have to wait and see but this is my theory."
“I hope it is not his,” added another.
Their speculation comes after many believe that Mack’s wife-to-be Charity is in on the secret too amid her ongoing support for Chloe throughout her pregnancy.
“Anyone else thinks Charity already knows and she's playing the long game?” questioned one viewer.
“I still feel like Charity already knows, from the time she picked up Sarah's phone from the bar, and it will do a flashback, on a very explosive wedding day,” said someone else.
Chloe is due to give birth in the coming days, with her due date falling on Mack and Charity’s wedding day.
