Emmerdale star reveals how far Kim will go to stop Gabby's escape

Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) knows that she is a fly caught in a spider’s trap when it comes to Emmerdale villain Kim Tate.

To Kim, family and Home Farm’s dynasty is everything, so she has her eyes completely on Gabby’s unborn child, even pressuring her to change her will, which would mean Kim would become soul guardian if anything happened to Gabby.

The fact that Kim isn’t expecting Gabby to outlive her is a bit yikes.

As Gabby plans to get away, Claire King has warned that she had better not underestimate Kim.

The actress exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘Gabby saw the Millie thing and Kim suggests to Gabby that she has a word with her solicitor just in case something happens to you, I will have custody of your child. Not thinking about the other grandparents out there – she’s not very good at sharing.

‘So Kim effectively wants to be the guardian. She negotiates these people like she does in business and she loves to be a winner. In real life, that’s her downfall, she ends up alone – she is a loser actually. She can’t manipulate people as easy as you can a contract.’

She added: ‘I think Kim would go to great lengths to get her grandchild. With Jamie gone, it’s whittled down and it’s a one man band and she needs to be that dynasty – this new grandchild is so important to her and she wants it called Tate. She would go to great lengths to stop Gabby taking her grandchild away!’

One thing that this storyline has allowed is for Claire to share scenes with Elizabeth Estensen, who has retired from her role as Diane Sugden.

Claire beamed: ‘Oh I love Liz to bits, she’s fabulous. She was leaving which is very sad as we didn’t have an awful lot but we have more scenes coming up especially related to Gabby.

‘They’re great scenes – two older ladies having a real set two like in the old days. It was fabulous to play. Liz is so great and very funny too.’
