Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter)’s health has been deteriorating rapidly over recent weeks in Emmerdale.
One especially traumatic episode recently saw her become confused after she had an accident with the kettle, and attacked Cain (Jeff Hordley) with a frying pan, thinking he was Shadrach. Her balance isn’t what it used to be and she’s had to start using a stick when she walks, and her strength is dwindling.
It’s a lot, but Faith has been refusing to let her illness defeat her and has been trying to live her life as fully as possible, often co-opting her dear friend Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) into her fun schemes.
At the same time, she worries about her family and how they will cope after she’s gone. And it looks like her worries are about to be added to, as she overhears a big secret in upcoming episodes which leaves her not sure what to do about it.
Emmerdale is, of course, not short of secrets. One of the biggest, and the one that would impact Faith’s family the most, is the secret affair that’s been going on for many months between Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
Faith would be devastated to learn that Chas was cheating on lovely Paddy (Dominic Brunt) with a man who, let’s face it, has been no friend of the Dingle family since he arrived in the village.
Could Faith be the one to expose the affair?
